President Trump Just Shared His Simple, Unifying New Year’s Resolution

Like many Americans, President Donald Trump rang in 2025 with a party and a chance to look ahead at the year to come. Of course, with less than three weeks until he returns to the White House, this year is sure to be far more momentous for Trump than the average citizen.

Nevertheless, one reporter took the opportunity to ask him if he’d made any resolutions for the new year, and his response reflected the message of unity and prosperity that helped secure his victory in November’s election.

As Newsweek reported:

“I just want everybody to be happy, healthy, and well,” he told a Newsmax reporter on New Year’s Eve at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Trump is becoming president in less than 20 days. On January 20, he will take his oath of office at the U.S. Capitol and begin his second term as president.

Trump, his wife, and adult children spent their New Year’s Eve at Mar-a-Lago, his resort in Florida.

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, was also in attendance at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night.

Musk has been part of Trump’s inner circle since the Republican ran for president a second time. He has been appointed to co-run the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

In a video posted to social media, Musk was seen holding his son on his shoulders while dancing to music at the party.

Musk’s attendance at the party was expected following a somewhat cryptic social media post Trump posed last month:

The celebration sparked a number of social media posts throughout Wednesday morning:

Trump himself shared a number of highlights to his Truth Social account:

Yahoo reported that Trump made a bit of news during the event:

Donald Trump rang in the new year with his family, Vice President-elect JD Vance, Elon Musk and other high-profile guests who attended a glitzy party at his Palm Beach estate, where the president-elect told reporters he’ll be attending the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter.

Trump also said he believes House Republicans will support Speaker Mike Johnson continuing in his job when votes are cast Friday and continued to express support for H-1B visas in remarks broadcast on C-SPAN.

Carter died Sunday at age 100. His funeral will be held Jan. 9 at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.. Trump declined to say Tuesday whether he has spoken to Carter’s family members.

And here’s a special message Trump delivered to those in attendance:
