‘Our World Is Broken’: Miss America Delivers Christ-Focused Message To A ‘Polarized And Divided’ Nation

When it comes to beauty pageants, many viewers are less concerned about what contestants have to say than what they look like.

In the case of current Miss America Abbie Stockard, however, it’s hard to ignore her motivation to use her influential position as a way to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

During a recent interview, the Alabama nursing student shared the importance faith in her life, as Fox News reported:

“I am very driven by my faith,” Stockard told Fox News Digital. “Based on the morals and the values that my family taught me, I believe that every single person is called to make a difference.

“I believe we were all created on purpose, for purpose. And so, while it is so amazing to have this platform of influence and be an ambassador for the organization, my main mission is to use this title to serve others.”

Stockard said she’s eager to hit the road and connect with fellow Americans, offering them hope during turbulent times.

“I think our world is broken,” she shared. “I think it is polarized and divided, and I want to be a light. I want to be an inspiration, and I want to make every single person feel seen, valued and appreciated, because that is who the Lord is. That’s what He would want me to do. And I know that I was anointed to this position for a purpose, and that’s why I’m not going to take it for granted.”

The comments attracted significant social media praise:

Stockard also attracted attention recently when she showed up to an inauguration-related event:

Yahoo News provided coverage of the attention-grabbing gown:

Andre Soriano, a shop owner in Occoquan, Virginia, and originally from the Philippines, designed a green “Make America Healthy Again” dress for recently crowned Miss America Abbie Stockard.

“She’s the sweetest,” Soriano told Fox News Digital of Stockard. “She’s the best representation of America. She’s going to be a great example for all the kids.”

Stockard, who represented Alabama and was crowned Miss America Jan. 5, wore the custom gown to the MAHA inaugural ball, held for a night in celebration of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Trump’s pick for secretary of Health and Human Services Jan. 20.

She has since shared photographs from the event opposite RFK Jr. and his wife, Cheryl Hines, among others.

Here’s a clip of the moment Stockard received her crown earlier this month:
