President Trump just confirmed that he will not be attending his son Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding this Memorial Day weekend.
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said that he wanted to go, but “circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so.”

While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so. I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina! President DONALD J. TRUMP
President Trump also called off his golf trip this weekend.
Originally, he was scheduled to head out to his golf club in Bedminster, NJ but that has since been canceled.
Instead, President Trump will return to the White House tonight after an event in New York.

CBS News confirmed the change in plans:
On Friday, the president didn’t mention specific responsibilities with the war or other matters that would cause him to stay in Washington. The president’s updated schedule for Saturday and Sunday lists only “executive time” at the White House.
At this time, we don’t know the exact reason for the schedule change.
But, it comes at a crucial time amid the conflict with Iran and other pressing matters.
Yesterday, President Trump signaled that he may have to skip Don Jr.’s wedding due to a little “thing called Iran.”

To add fuel to all the speculation going around, CBS News reports that many military and intelligence officials have also canceled their Memorial Day plans ahead of potential strikes on Iran:
Some members of the U.S. military and intelligence community canceled their plans for the Memorial Day weekend in anticipation of possible strikes, several sources said.
Defense and intelligence officials began updating recall rosters for U.S. installations overseas as tranches of troops stationed in the Middle East rotate out of theater, part of an effort to reduce the American military footprint in the region amid concern about possible Iranian retaliation.
The U.S. and Iran have largely refrained from striking each other since a temporary ceasefire began in early April, buying time for indirect talks on a longer-term deal.
White House spokesperson Anna Kelly told CBS News that Mr. Trump has "made his redlines abundantly clear: Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon, and they cannot keep their enriched uranium."
"The President always maintains all options at all times, and it is the job of the Pentagon to be ready to execute any decision the Commander-in-Chief could make," Kelly said. "The President has been clear about the consequences if Iran fails to make a deal."
As for Don Jr., he and his wife Bettina Anderson will be having a small, private wedding in the Bahamas over the weekend.
However, they legally married on Thursday in Palm Beach, Florida, according to TMZ:
Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson are officially official ... because the couple quietly was wed ahead of their lavish Bahamas wedding weekend.
According to the marriage certificate, obtained by TMZ, Don Jr. and Bettina checked the legal box Thursday, with a Palm Beach County deputy clerk signing off on the license ... paving the way for the couple’s upcoming "I do" moment on a private island in the Bahamas.
The ceremony was officiated by Brad McPherson ... a longtime real estate attorney who has worked closely with the Trump family for years. This was a legal formality the pair needed to handle before their actual ceremony outside of the U.S.
Congrats to the two of them!
We'll see what this weekend brings...
