WATCH: Tens of Thousands of Bees Suddenly Swarm Across Parts of Israel, Authorities Issue Urgent Warnings

This is wild.

Tens of thousands of bees suddenly swarmed across parts of southern Israel today, forcing residents indoors and shutting down businesses in the city of Netivot.

We’re talking bees covering cars like a blanket, landing on buildings, swarming balconies — the kind of thing you have to see to believe.

Authorities immediately issued warnings telling people to seal their doors and windows and stay inside.

Breaking911 posted about it earlier today:

The footage coming out of Netivot is absolutely unreal.

Shop owners in the commercial center reportedly locked up immediately as the swarm moved through. One vehicle was so covered in bees that the driver’s side window and mirror were completely obscured.

The municipality of Netivot put out an urgent notice telling residents to stay away from the area entirely and not to approach the bees until professional beekeepers or pest control could arrive.

Pubity shared this with some incredible video:

Ynet News reported on the details:

A large bee swarm settled in a shopping complex in Netivot, a southern Israeli city. The swarm also appeared on residential balconies throughout the city.

Footage shows masses of bees flying through the shopping complex area while residents observed in alarm. The incident prompted immediate municipal response.

The municipality issued guidance instructing residents to stay away from the site and avoid approaching the bees until professional teams could handle the situation.

No injuries have been reported so far, thankfully.

But the scale of this thing is hard to overstate. A local beekeeper reportedly received dozens of calls about bees appearing not just at the shopping center, but in homes and other businesses all across the city.

Dom Lucre posted video of the scene as well:

Belaaz had more on the situation:

Videos and photos captured the swarm creating a dramatic scene. The insects completely covered parked cars, with one vehicle becoming entirely obscured.

Shop owners quickly sealed their establishments by locking doors and closing windows as a precaution.

Experts noted that honeybees are generally not aggressive when swarming unless provoked, though maintaining safe distance remains advisable.

The incident likely resulted from natural phenomena. Bee swarms like this can occur naturally when a colony splits and looks for a new home, especially in spring.

Spring swarming season or not — that’s a LOT of bees. And all at once like that? Incredible footage coming out of Israel today.
