Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins Gives Major SNAP Reform Update — Over 800K People Removed

During the Democrat-fueled government shutdown, the SNAP program was exposed for the massive, fraudulent scam it is.

While there are, indeed, people going through a rough patch who really need temporary food assistance, there are so many other people who exploit the system to eat for free at the expense of those of us who actually work and pay taxes.

In fact, a recent investigation revealed that there were over half a million duplicate SNAP recipients, and nearly 200K dead ones!

Today, during Trump’s cabinet meeting, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins provided an update on efforts being made to reform the SNAP program.

She confirmed that over 800K people have been removed from the program, so far.

Watch here:

MAJOR: Over 800,000 people have officially been removed from SNAP, confirmed by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins.

She highlights that the fraud is off the charts:

– 500,000 people receiving benefits twice.
– 186,000 dead people receiving benefits
– People receiving benefits in SIX different states

This is an incredible start. Keep removing more. No more robbing the American taxpayer.

“800,000 of those 42 million have moved off of food stamps, which is hopefully the plan with better jobs, higher wages.”

“We found 186,000 dead people or dead people’s Social Security numbers being used, 500,000 people receiving benefits more than twice, we had a couple of people receiving benefits in six states.”

This is a wonderful step in the right direction.

And, it’s only just the start.

The Trump administration is cracking down on SNAP, with efforts underway to audit the program in every state.

Those Democrat states who refuse to comply with the crackdown are facing being cut off from federal SNAP funding altogether.

CNBC has more details:

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins on Tuesday threatened to cut off federal funding to Democratic-leaning states over what she alleged is their refusal to share SNAP program data with the Trump administration.

The administration “will begin to stop moving federal funds into those states” starting next week “until they comply,” Rollins told President Donald Trump during a Cabinet meeting at the White House.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, responding to Rollins in an X post, wrote, “Genuine question: Why is the Trump Administration so hellbent on people going hungry?”

Rollins said her department needs the state-by-state data on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as food stamps, “to root out this fraud and to protect the American taxpayer.”

The secretary said the U.S. Department of Agriculture in February had asked all 50 states “for the first time to turn over their data to the federal government.”

She said 29 “red states” complied, but 21 “blue states continue to say no.”

The noncompliant states include California, New York and Minnesota, Rollins said. The governors’ offices for each of those three states did not immediately respond to CNBC’s requests for comment.

A USDA spokesperson later specified in a statement to CNBC, “28 States and Guam joined us in this fight; but states like California, New York, and Minnesota, among 19 other blue States, keep fighting us.”

The department had “established a SNAP integrity team” to analyze state data and “end indiscriminate welfare fraud,” the spokesperson said.

“We have sent Democrat States yet another request for data, and if they fail to comply, they will be provided with formal warning that USDA will pull their administrative funds.”

What do you think?

Are you happy with the Trump administration reforming the SNAP program?
