A reality television personality is behind bars in Georgia after police filed a set of sickening child-sex charges tied to an alleged incident at a hotel.
The suspect is Sidney Favors, better known to viewers as Sidney Starr.
Favors was arrested Sunday after an investigation at the Embassy Suites in the 3400 block of International Boulevard in Hapeville, just south of Atlanta.
Police charged Favors with sodomy, sexual battery against a child under 16, and aggravated child molestation. Those are accusations at this stage, but there is no softening what authorities say they are investigating: the alleged sexual abuse of a minor.

FOX 5 Atlanta reported that Hapeville police took Favors into custody following the alleged assault of a juvenile at the hotel. The station said the case has been turned over to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Authorities have not released the child’s identity or other details that could expose the minor. Hapeville police told the station that no additional information would be made public because the case involves a juvenile.
Favors remained in the Fulton County Jail as the case moved forward. A newly released booking photograph identifies the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and shows Favors in jail clothing.
That restraint from police is exactly right. The public has a legitimate interest in the charges and the conduct of the accused, but the child at the center of the case deserves privacy and protection.

TMZ reported that booking records list the Hapeville Police Department as the arresting agency. The outlet also reported that the allegation involves sexual contact with a minor inside the Embassy Suites.
According to the outlet’s account of those records, Favors allegedly admitted to performing a sex act on the minor while claiming the encounter was consensual. A child cannot legally consent to the conduct alleged in the charges.
The exact narrative behind each count has not yet been laid out in public court filings. That evidence will have to be tested in court, and prosecutors will carry the burden of proving the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
Favors has appeared on reality television programs including Love & Hip Hop: New York and Baddies ATL, along with appearances connected to Wild ‘N Out, Empire, and Star.
