Aaron Rodgers Lets ‘Criminal’ Anthony Fauci Have It In Scathing Rant: ‘Are You Kidding Me?’

In the wake of his embarrassing appearance at a recent congressional hearing, during which he pleaded his Fifth Amendment rights more than 100 times, Dr. Anthony Fauci has been the subject of widespread criticism.

One of his most vocal critics, NFL great Aaron Rodgers, took on the controversial figure once again during a recent ESPN broadcast.

According to the New York Post: 

During a Monday appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers — who faced scrutiny for not getting the COVID-19 vaccine in 2021 — joking said he would “plead the fifth” when asked about his final NFL season.

“I’m going to plead the fifth… like that absolute coward, Tony Fauci,” Rodgers said. “Are you kidding me? You got a pardon and you pleaded [the fifth] over 100 times. What are you scared of Tony?

“I thought you were the science, and he gets up there and can’t answer a question.”

His remarks received some social media attention:

Considering how much Rodgers was once subjected to online harassment for his anti-vaccine views, his comments about the media's double standards are not without reason. Fauci's demeanor before Congress was also something that truly deserved scrutiny.

Rodgers’ refusal to answer the question was a tongue-in-cheek call-out of Fauci, who invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 100 times at a congressional hearing on Wednesday, July 29. The Steelers’ quarterback, who famously misled the media about his COVID-19 vaccination status in 2021, has long been critical of Fauci and the U.S. government’s handling of the COVID epidemic. He went on to criticize Fauci for more than two minutes in his latest “Pat McAfee Show” appearance.

Rodgers then pivoted to call out ESPN for what he called a failure to provide enough coverage about the scandal involving former NFL insider Dianna Russini and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.
