This is low, even for The Washington Post.
A recent WaPo slander piece implied that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Admiral Bradley may have committed war crimes by ordering multiple strikes intended to kill survivors on a drug boat.
The strike in question happened in September and ultimately killed 11 narco-terrorists.
According to the WaPo, Hegseth gave the direct order to “kill everyone” on-board the boat.
Of course, that wasn’t true at all and has since been exposed as fake news.
Somewhat surprisingly, it was The New York Times who debunked the WaPo’s absurd claims, reporting:
In interviews on Monday, two U.S. officials — both of whom were supportive of the administration’s boat strikes — described a meeting before the attack at which Mr. Hegseth had briefed Special Operations Forces commanders on his execute order to engage the boat with lethal force.
That written order, they said, did not address what should happen if people survived the first strike. Several people familiar with the congressional effort said that lawmakers had asked to see a copy of the execute order and that the administration refused to turn it over.
The two officials also said Mr. Hegseth made no oral directive at the meeting that went beyond the written order. The Post article did not provide context on when Mr. Hegseth gave what its sources described as a spoken order to kill everyone.
The two officials questioned whether the surviving people were Admiral Bradley’s intended target in the second strike, as opposed to the purported drugs and the disabled vessel. They argued that the purported cargo remained a threat and a lawful military target because another cartel-associated boat might have come to retrieve it.
To sum it up, what really happened was that Admiral Bradley ordered a second strike after the first strike in order to destroy all cargo on the boat.
This was done to prevent another vessel from picking up the drugs later.
The second strike was perfectly sound and legal.
Fox News dove deeper in this clip:
Backup here, if needed:
🚨 BREAKING: The Washington Post has just been caught red-handed SLANDERING Pete Hegseth and Admiral Bradley by claiming they ordered survivors be killed after a narco-strike
The NYT has 100% DEBUNKED the WaPo report now.

The WaPo picked the wrong guy to mess with.
Rightfully so, Secretary Hegseth is livid about the fake news’ smear campaign against him.
During the Trump cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Hegseth brutally slammed the media.
Watch this:

🚨 HOLY CRAP! Pete Hegseth just EVISCERATED the fake news over their made up stories on narcoterrorist strikes
“This is what you in the press don’t understand. You sit in your air conditioned offices, or up on Capitol Hill, and you nitpick, and you plant FAKE STORIES in the Washington Post about ‘kiII everybody!’”
“Anonymous sources not based in anything, not based in any truth at all!”
“We WILL stop the poisoning of the American people!”
Secretary Hegseth also released a lengthy statement on X shutting down the WaPo’s lies:

As usual, the fake news is delivering more fabricated, inflammatory, and derogatory reporting to discredit our incredible warriors fighting to protect the homeland.
As we’ve said from the beginning, and in every statement, these highly effective strikes are specifically intended to be “lethal, kinetic strikes.” The declared intent is to stop lethal drugs, destroy narco-boats, and kill the narco-terrorists who are poisoning the American people. Every trafficker we kill is affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization.
The Biden administration preferred the kid gloves approach, allowing millions of people — including dangerous cartels and unvetted Afghans — to flood our communities with drugs and violence. The Trump administration has sealed the border and gone on offense against narco-terrorists. Biden coddled terrorists, we kill them.
Our current operations in the Caribbean are lawful under both U.S. and international law, with all actions in compliance with the law of armed conflict—and approved by the best military and civilian lawyers, up and down the chain of command.
Our warriors in SOUTHCOM put their lives on the line every day to protect the Homeland from narco-terrorists — and I will ALWAYS have their back.
