With primary elections in several key states putting a far-left socialist on the ballot as the Democrat candidate, several top Republicans think the trend could play out in their party’s favor this November.
Typically, the party that wins the White House loses seats in Congress during the subsequent midterm cycle.
But with candidates like Abdul El-Sayed, the socialist U.S. Senate candidate who just won Michigan’s Democrat primary, set to square off against Republicans in the general election, President Donald Trump is among those in the GOP who are growing more optimistic.
As Just The News reported, the president likes Republican Mike Rogers’ chances against El-Sayed:
“Great news for the Republican Party. El-Sayed, a Communist loser who hates Jews and Israel, is the projected winner in his race with the Socialist,” he posted on Truth Social. “As usual, the Polls were way off on this one. She was not expected to do nearly as well as she did. Now, the Dumocrats crazy policies will only get worse!”
Rogers, for his part, has seized on El-Sayed’s win, saying it made the race a choice between “common sense” and “complete insanity.”
The race is expected to be one of the most hotly contested in the battle for the Senate in November.

The Hill added these details:
“The polls were wrong again last night when they said it would be a landslide victory for a hater of Jews and a hater of Israel,” Trump said at an event aimed at touting the “no tax on tips” provision of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
“This guy hates Jews,” he continued. “Somebody said, ‘Oh that’s a little strong.’ No, he hates Jews and hates Israel.”
