GOP Senator Calls For ‘Full Toxicology Report’ Amid Worries Of ‘Foul Play’ In Graham’s Death

The sudden death of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) over the weekend has prompted an array of responses, including more than a few theories that something more sinister than a cardiac event was responsible.

After U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) seemed to suggest the possibility of Russian involvement in Graham’s death, another Senate Republican weighed in.

Breitbart shared what Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) had to say on the matter during a recent Fox News appearance:

Hawley replied, “Listen, I think that the FBI, I know, is involved in this. I think it is only wise and smart to look at every angle here. I absolutely think there should be a full toxicology report, autopsy — the whole thing. I mean, nobody had been a greater advocate of taking on Putin than Lindsey Graham. Nobody had been tougher on the Iranians over time than Lindsey. He had a lot of enemies in the world, so I wouldn’t rule anything out. I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist, and you know, I hope that none of that is true.”

“But the truth is that we’ve lost a good man,” he added. “The Senate has lost a good man who was doing a lot of good work, and I think we owe it to his constituents and the American people to get the truth.”

Yahoo provided these details about Cornyn’s remarks:

Cornyn told reporters on Monday he wants to see Graham’s toxicology report released “to rule out any foul play” and silence online theories that have surfaced since his death.

“I saw the initial diagnosis of a dissected aorta — which is terrible, I mean, obviously, that could cause his death — but given where he was and the sorts of things he was advocating for, I think we just ought to resolve all those questions by seeing what the toxicology reports show,” Cornyn said, per CNN.

When asked if he was concerned Graham was poisoned, Cornyn said “I’m just saying he needs a toxicology test to rule out any foul play.”
