Vice President JD Vance’s Motorcade Spotted In Austin, Texas, Here’s Why Vance Is In The City

Residents in Austin, Texas were surprised to see a motorcade drive through their city on Tuesday afternoon.

The motorcade was later discovered to be linked to Vice President JD Vance who was making a trip to the city.

Vance was in the city for a sit-down interview with Joe Rogan which is sure to be entertaining being Rogan usually holds nothing back when asking questions.

CBS Austin confirmed Vance’s plans to sit-down with Rogan:

Vice President JD Vance arrived in Austin Tuesday morning to record an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” according to CBS News and members of the secret service.

A CBS News White House team member said that a “source familiar with the matter” confirmed Vance’s plans.

Vance had originally been scheduled to be in Washington, D.C., on Capitol Hill on Tuesday but scrapped those plans the day before, citing a “scheduling conflict,” according to CBS News.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a temporary flight restriction (TFR) in Austin on July 14, which happens whenever the president or vice president travel within the United States. According to a Vice Presidential TFR impact statement, the airport directly impacted by this TFR is Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).

An AUS spokesperson confirmed to MySA that a ramp freeze was issued at AUS around 8:10 Tuesday morning and cleared at around 8:35 a.m. While it’s unclear if and why Vance could be in Austin, several residents took to social media to report traffic delays from a possible presidential motorcade traveling through the Capital City.

Vance’s interview with Rogan marks the second time he has been interviewed by Rogan.

A year ago Vance was interviewed by Rogan and the interview has since reached a staggering 20 million views.
