Perhaps no issue has shown the extent of the left’s Trump Derangement Syndrome more acutely than the manufactured fracas over recent renovations to the Lincoln Memorial Reflection Pool in D.C.
The mainstream media churned out endless headlines about the algae outbreak that has since been addressed, and there have been several arrests on charges related to vandalizing the freshly painted landmark.

But one lawmaker might’ve turned the algae outrage up higher than any of her fellow Democrats.
The Daily Wire reported on recent comments from Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI):
U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) said her constituents were “outraged” by algae in the picturesque reflecting pool, calling it “sad” and a “real problem” on CNN.
“That’s all anybody talked about at home this weekend,” Dingell said. “It’s very sad, actually, as we do go into the 250th and you know, the 250th is a time that all of us should remember how lucky we are to live in this country, and what our forefathers put into that Constitution.”
On social media, comment after comment reflected ample skepticism about her claim:

As “pro-algae” protests pop up in the nation’s capital and elected officials like Dingell hype the issue on cable news, this recent Babylon Bee article might not remain satire for long:
The algae from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool surged ahead of former Vice President Kamala Harris in polls for the Democratic Party’s 2028 presidential nomination.
The news came over the weekend after many Democrats expressed approval of the green sludge covering much of the newly renovated reflecting pond in front of the national monument. Many said they thought the ooze adequately reflected their values and political objectives over other potential candidates like Harris.

The green goop surged ahead of all other candidates after Democrats saw how well it was able to undermine President Trump’s efforts to clean up the reflecting pool.
