Pro-Life Father Targeted by Biden’s FBI Wins Over $1 Million From the DOJ

Picture this.

It’s 7 in the morning. Your kids are still asleep. Your wife is home.

Then you open your front door — and there are 20 armed FBI agents on your lawn, weapons drawn, ordering you to the ground in front of your family.

That’s exactly what happened to Mark Houck, a devout Catholic father of seven from Pennsylvania, back in September of 2022. His crime? Pushing away an abortion clinic escort who had been verbally harassing his 12-year-old son outside a Philadelphia Planned Parenthood the year before.

A jury saw through it. They acquitted him in less than an hour.

Now, years later, the federal government has quietly handed the Houck family a check for over $1 million — a settlement that speaks volumes about just how corrupt and politically motivated that prosecution really was.

The New York Post had more on how deep the rot actually went:

The Christian Post broke down the full details of what the Houck family endured:

In a statement published Thursday, the pro-life advocacy group 40 Days for Life Institute of Law & Justice announced that pro-life activist Mark Houck won a settlement of over $1 million nearly four years after the early morning FBI raid on his home generated outrage.

Houck, a devout Catholic father of seven, was charged with violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act by the Biden administration in 2022. The charges against Houck stemmed from an incident that took place as Houck and his son prayed outside an abortion clinic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in October 2021.

While the U.S. Department of Justice alleged that Houck “twice assaulted a man because he was a volunteer reproductive health care clinic escort,” a fundraiser set up to pay for Houck’s legal expenses told a different story: the escort followed them down the street, continued yelling at Mark’s son, and Mark pushed him away.

While a jury acquitted Houck in early 2023, Houck and his wife filed a lawsuit later that year alleging that the DOJ engaged in malicious and retaliatory prosecution, abuse of process, false arrest and assault.

The jury took less than an hour to decide Houck was innocent. Less than an hour. And yet Biden’s DOJ had already put this family through hell — an early morning raid, guns drawn, children screaming, a father chained to a table for six hours and threatened with 11 years in federal prison.

For pushing someone who was screaming in his kid’s face.

And it turns out Houck wasn’t alone. The Trump DOJ just released a report confirming this was a pattern — a deliberate, coordinated campaign to use the FACE Act as a political weapon against pro-life Americans. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said the quiet part out loud:

Working hand in hand with NGOs and pro-abortion nonprofits. That’s your Department of Justice under Biden — not serving the American people, serving the abortion lobby.

Blaze Media captured the reaction from those who watched this case unfold from the beginning:

40 Days for Life CEO and President Shawn Carney touted the case as a “huge legal victory for free speech.” Carney added that the change in administration aided efforts immensely, saying, “We got so much persecution from the DOJ under Biden, and President Trump has corrected that.”

C.J. Doyle, the executive director of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, said: “All Americans who believe in the rule of law and in the nonpartisan administration of justice should celebrate Mark Houck’s victorious settlement with the Department of Justice. Houck was the victim of ideologically driven prosecutorial overreach by a corrupt, politicized Biden DOJ which had a history of selective prosecutions of FACE Act cases. This unwarranted prosecution was preceded by a gratuitous, grossly excessive display of force by FBI agents in arresting Houck in front of his family.”

“Ideologically driven prosecutorial overreach.” That’s a polite way of putting it.

Biden’s FBI sent a SWAT-style team to arrest a man for defending his son. A jury laughed them out of the courtroom in under an hour. And now the taxpayers are on the hook for over a million dollars to clean up the mess.

At least under President Trump, there’s finally some accountability — and the Houck family gets to walk away with something other than trauma.
