DHS Chief Markwayne Mullin Considers Big Move to Hold Sanctuary Cities Accountable

New Department of Homeland Secretary Markwayne Mullin is zeroing in on sanctuary cities.

While discussing his plans for continuing our nation’s crackdown on immigration with Fox News host Bret Baier, Mullin floated the possibility of pulling CBP Customs from airports in sanctuary cities.

He warned that cities who refuse to work with the Trump administration on immigration may “lose their customs” at international airports out of concern for national security.

Backup here if needed:

Dozens of the busiest international airports in our nation are located in sanctuary cities like New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

In effect, pulling CBP agents out of there would prevent foreigners from being able to enter our nation through any of these international airports in Democrat-run cities that won’t enforce immigration policy.

The New York Post has more on the impact removing CBP agents at airports in sanctuary cities would have:

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents operate at more than 300 ports of entry, including international airports, throughout the country.

Removing CBP from sanctuary city airports would be in-line with the Trump administration’s policy of terminating federal funding for jurisdictions that prevent local law enforcement and jails from working with federal immigration enforcement agents.

Reducing the number of CBP agents at sanctuary city airports would likely create long lines for international travelers seeking to enter or re-enter the US.
