“All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT,” Trump said.
“You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!” he added.

The Hill shared further:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth doubled down on the president’s comments during a Pentagon press briefing Tuesday morning.
“The president was clear this morning in his Truth that there are countries around the world who ought to be prepared to step up on this critical waterway as well,” Hegseth said.
“Last time I checked there was supposed to be a big bad Royal Navy that could be prepared to do things like that,” he added.
The comments come after the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump told aides that he would be willing to end the U.S. military operation in the country even if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.
In a phone call with CBS News on Tuesday morning after posting the TruthSocial post, Trump said he was not yet pulling assets from the strait.

Trump also singled out France, saying they’ve been “very unhelpful.”
“The Country of France wouldn’t let planes headed to Israel, loaded up with military supplies, fly over French territory,” Trump said.
“France has been VERY UNHELPFUL with respect to the ‘Butcher of Iran,’ who has been successfully eliminated! The U.S.A. will REMEMBER!!!” he added.
More from Forbes:
Trump has repeatedly criticized U.S. allies in recent weeks over their refusal to join the Iran war. Earlier this month, Trump called NATO countries “COWARDS” and denounced the military alliance as a “PAPER TIGER,” claiming the Iran war posed “very little danger.” Trump suggested the U.S. would pull from its commitment to the alliance and said last week the U.S. does not “have to be there” for NATO. After Spain blocked U.S. access to joint military bases, Trump threatened to “cut off all dealings” with Spain.
The average price for a gallon of gas in the U.S. surpassed $4 for the first time since 2022 on Tuesday, according to AAA.
