President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth just gave the National Guard some great news.
At an event in Memphis, President Trump said that Hegseth has signed a directive granting full active-duty pay and benefits to National Guard members deployed to U.S. cities as part of a federal crackdown on crime.
The White House shared:
President Trump and @SecWar have announced FULL benefits for national guard troops, equivalent to those of other active service members.

This means that National Guard members who are serving in U.S. cities will get the same full-time pay, healthcare, and retirement benefits as active-duty military members.
News Nation Now broke it down further:
President Donald Trump on Monday said National Guard members deployed across the U.S. will receive the same deployment pay and benefits as active duty troops.
While Trump didn’t provide specifics, the U.S. Army outlines the qualifications for such pay:
“Operational Deployment Pay (ODP) is payable to Soldiers deployed away from their permanent duty station (PDS) / home station on an approved deployment lasting over 60 consecutive calendar days. The purpose of ODP is to provide a special pay in recognition of the greater than normal rigors of deployments.”
Trump made the comments while touting the success of the Memphis Safe Task Force during a visit to the city.
National Guard members are already paid for every day they serve, including monthly drill, annual training, job training and standard deployments. Trump’s announcement, however, would make them eligible for the same pay and benefits as active duty troops.
National Guard members typically receive part-time pay and certain health care benefits. Active duty benefits, however, include full-time pay, free health care, subsidized housing and retirement plans.

This is awesome.
President Trump is absolutely right — our brave men and women in the National Guard deserve it!
As just one example, since the federal crackdown in Memphis, crime is down by a massive percentage.
Take a look at these statistics:
🇺🇸 President Donald J. Trump in Memphis, the LARGEST violent crime drop ever:
✅ Robberies ↓60%
✅ Carjackings ↓74%
✅ Murders ↓70% from peak7,000+ arrests, 1,100+ illegal guns seized, 1,000+ lbs drugs off streets, 150+ missing kids rescued. Law & Order is BACK. pic.twitter.com/mTTSnDdc8q

I can’t think of anyone who deserves a boost in pay more than the National Guard members working to make our cities safe again.
These folks agree:
That’s is great news. They deserve this as they to service this country!
