The Hill reported Tucker Carlson attempted to talk the Trump White House out of striking Iran:

Tucker Carlson reportedly sought to talk President Trump out of going to war with Iran, The New York Times reported Monday.

In a lengthy piece that outlined how Trump, at the urging of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, decided to launch military action against Iran, the newspaper reported that Carlson met with the president three times in the Oval Office over the past month to argue why he should not do so.

Carlson, the former Fox News host who now runs his own media company, reportedly outlined the risks to U.S. military personnel, energy prices and Arab partners in the region if Trump authorized the operation. He also told the president that Netanyahu’s desire to attack Iran was the sole reason Trump was considering a strike and encouraged the president to “restrain” the Israeli prime minister.

But Trump told Carlson that the U.S. had no choice but to join Israel in attacking Iran, a bombing campaign that began on Saturday and launched a wider war with implications throughout the region. The Times reported that Carlson told others he thought the president was leaning toward military action after he left the White House last Monday.

Since the joint U.S.-Israeli operation began in Iran, four U.S. service members have been killed in action, according to U.S. Central Command. Over 500 Iranians have also been killed in strikes as of 6 a.m. EST Monday, according to the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
