President Trump Calls Out Dems Who REFUSED To Stand for Protecting Americans: “You Should Be Ashamed of Yourselves!”

The Democrats who chose to actually attend the State of the Union address (rather than pathetically boycotting it due to late-stage TDS) are showing their true colors tonight.

During his address, President Trump asked everyone in the room to please stand up if they agree with this basic statement:

“The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”

Every Republican member of Congress immediately stood up and applauded for quite awhile.

But, of course, Democrats refused to stand.

In response, President Trump directly called them out, telling them they “should be ashamed” of themselves.

CNBC had more to say on the very telling moment:

Trump told Democrats in the House chamber, “You should be ashamed of yourself not standing up,” after he asked lawmakers to “stand up and show your support” for the idea that the first duty of the U.S. government is “to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”

Republicans had stood and loudly clapped at Trump’s call, with some looking over at their stony-faced colleagues among the Democratic side of the room. State of the Union addresses routinely feature one side of the chamber standing and cheering when their party’s president is in power while the other side sits without applauding.

“As we speak, Democrats in this chamber have cut off all funding for the Department of Homeland Security,” Trump said.

“These people are crazy. They’re crazy,” Trump later said. “Democrats are destroying the country, but we stopped it in the nick of time.”

Democrats just made it crystal clear where they stand (or rather, don’t stand.)

They don’t stand with the American people, like you and me. They stand with dangerous, illegal criminals.
