‘I’m Not Built For This’: Santos Tells Carlson His Prison Stint Is ‘Practically A Death Sentence’

Disgraced former U.S. Rep. George Santos (R-NY) is clearly worried about his safety as he prepares to spend years behind bars.

He pleaded guilty to charges involving wire fraud and identity theft, which resulted in a sentence of more than seven years in prison.

Before reporting to the facility where he’ll be housed, Santos sat down for an interview with Tucker Carlson that he said could be his last.

As the Daily Caller reported, he cited both his “sheltered” upbringing and the fact that he’s gay as potentially deadly attributes when he’s placed in custody:

“I don’t know that I survive it. They’re putting me in a violent prison. It’s a medium facility. I’m not a streetwise guy. I don’t know how to fight,” Santos told Carlson. “I’m a gay man. Statistics tell you what happens to gay men in prison. I don’t know that I survive this. I’m being honest. I mean, I can’t change that. It’s sad. I have a family.”

Carlson asked Santos if he was being “serious.”

“I’m genuinely serious. People think I’m exaggerating when I say this,” Santos responded. “I’ve never had to fight a day in my life. I grew up in a very sheltered life. Apartment kid in New York City.”

“This could be very much my last interview. And I’m not trying to be over-dramatic here. I’m just being honest with you,” he added. “I look at this as practically a death sentence to what could occur to me. And we’ve seen this. It’s not like I’m saying something out of the ordinary. I’m not built for this.”

The sordid narrative surrounding Santos and his short term in Congress has fueled significant social media discussion prior to the start of his prison sentence:

Here’s the full text of the truncated post above:

Does it not bother anyone else that George Santos @MrSantosNY is going to prison for misuse of campaign donations for SEVEN + years, while Hillary Clinton, James Comey, John Brennan, Adam Schiff, James Clapper, Christopher Wray, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Mark Milley, Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Andrew McCabe, Victoria Nuland, Anthony Fauci, Merrick Garland, Antony Blinken, Alejandro Mayorkas, and the entire Biden Crime Family are still walking free?

The Clintons and the Bidens have become multi-millionaires by running fake NGO’s and taking bribes from foreign governments FOR DECADES.

Pelosi, Maxine Waters, and dozens of members in Congress in BOTH parties have been doing insider trading of stocks for years.

EVERY ONE OF THESE PEOPLE has committed perjury, sedition, or TREASON. Many of them plotted together to literally ASSASSINATE President Trump.

The treatment of George Santos, a first time offender, is ABOMINABLE. If he was a Democrat, he would have been given a slap on the wrist, and he would still be in Congress. IMO he should be given no more than a month in prison and 500 hours community service.

Putting George Santos in prison for using campaign funds for personal use is something 90% of all politicians have done for generations.

In one of his most recent social media posts, Santos declared:

I’m going to prison, that’s a fact.

I fucked up, that’s a fact.

My “plea deal” is a sham and my sentence is political those are facts!

I’ve been left to rot by all my “allies”, that’s an undeniable FACT!

If they applied the same standard to all members of congress, they’d all be indicted!

The reason I rest my head on my pillow everyday and sleep well is because I don’t coverup or hold water for people like Epstein.

If we really had teeth AG Bondi would be under investigation by the House Oversight committee YESTERDAY!

Weak, frail and incompetent leadership over at the House Oversight GOP.

Prior to his interview with Carlson, Santos referenced his fears of dying while in prison, as the Daily News reported:

Santos told his social media followers Wednesday that should something happen while he’s incarcerated, they should not to believe any stories they might hear about him harming himself.

“If anything comes out suggesting otherwise, consider it a lie…full stop,” he said. “So if something does happen, there’s no confusion. I did NOT kill myself.”

The ex-rep’s comments appeared to reference the 2019 death of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died of suicide by hanging at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Despite numerous investigations, MAGA loyalists like Santos have refused to believe that Epstein killed himself.
