HUGE: Senate Panel Obtains Fauci’s COVID-Era iPhone Ahead of Contempt Vote

Well, this is going to be interesting…

In a major shake-up, Republican Sen. Ron Johnson just announced that he has obtained a copy of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s iPhone from the COVID years.

The Biden administration tried hard to bury these records.

But a phone backup from Fauci’s time as head of Health and Human Services was uncovered and sent over to the Senate by none other than Secretary RFK Jr!

Eric Daugherty broke it down:

JUST IN: Sen. Ron Johnson has just obtained Dr. Fauci’s COVID-ERA PHONE records that were COVERED UP, now sent to the Senate by HHS Sec. Bobby Kennedy

Good! PROSECUTE and GO AROUND the pardon 🔥

This is crucial evidence that could now be handed over to the Attorney General of Florida.

RON JOHNSON: “The Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations has obtained a copy of Dr. Fauci’s phone from HHS. Hopefully, this device will address many of the questions he refused to answer at last week’s hearing.”

This latest development comes as a Senate subcommittee is preparing to hold a vote on whether or not to hold Fauci in contempt for his behavior during last week’s hearing.

Sen. Rand Paul dropped the contempt resolution here:

With Fauci having pleaded the Fifth to every question he was asked during his testimony, his phone could end up being the loudest witness yet!

Fox News reported:

The cellphone was transferred from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations chaired by Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis.

A spokesperson for the senator told Fox News Digital the subcommittee “obtained a copy of Dr. Fauci’s iPhone that was used during his time at HHS.”

Whether the panel has access to the phone remains unclear.

The committee’s procurement of the phone, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, comes as the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee readies to decide whether to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress. It also follows the HHS’ move to dump over 1,000 pages of Fauci’s personal diary to the panel just days before the blockbuster hearing.

The hearing, slated for Thursday morning, comes after the panel’s chair, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., subpoenaed Fauci to testify on his alleged role in funding “risky” gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China, where the COVID-19 virus originated.

A source close to Paul’s office told Fox News Digital that the lawmaker is also in possession of the phone.

The contempt vote, scheduled for Thursday, could pave the way towards prosecuting Fauci.

The New York Times has more on what that process could look like:

If the Homeland Security Committee votes to hold Dr. Fauci in contempt, it would clear the way for the panel to recommend that the Justice Department prosecute him for failing to comply with the subpoena, a misdemeanor under federal law. But that does not mean the department will take up the case.

In order for a contempt resolution to carry the force of law, the full Senate must adopt it. If that happens, it would be sent to the U.S. attorney in Washington, who would then have an obligation to investigate. But contempt resolutions require a 60-vote majority, and with 53 Republicans in the Senate, adoption is highly unlikely.

In addition to the contempt vote, Fauci is facing an investigation in Florida.
