Reports have started streaming in that India has launched a massive attack against it’s nuclear neighbor, Pakistan.
It is being considered a major attack, and every indication is it could be the start of a broader conflict.
An air war is quickly developing over the airspace of both countries, including missile strikes and reports of downed planes.
Neither country appears ready to de-escalate.
The strikes began with India bombing areas inside Pakistan it claims are related to recent terror attacks carried out on Indian territory:

The obvious concern is that either nation could opt to use it’s nuclear arsenal, sparking a cascading set of events which could then lead to all out war in the region — including allies of either nation.
The cross border attacks have been expected for some time following increased tensions and terror attacks along the border region of the two countries.

Alex Jones shared a video purportedly of a Pakistani fighter jet being shot down over the contested border region of Kashmir:

The danger of uncontrolled escalation is real, with reports already coming in that both sides are fully prepared to continue engaging in strikes on each other’s territory.
Social media indicates that both missiles and aircraft have been used to strike targets on both sides of the border.
The Indian military published this “hype video” on it’s X account just minutes before kicking off it’s attack:

The large first wave of attacks by India brought a quick vow of retaliation from Pakistan, according to a report by the BBC:
It’s a dramatic escalation between the two nuclear-armed rivals.
ADVERTISEMENTEven though there were expectations that India could launch some sort of military action, the intensity of the missile attacks inside Pakistan had surprised many.
India says that some of the places it was bombing were linked to militants, and they were not targeting Pakistani military sites.
Pakistan has vowed retaliation, and the nature and targets of this will determine Delhi’s counter-reaction.
Both countries think they can manage escalation, but tensions are running high and it’s difficult to predict the course of any military conflict.
President Trump responded to the strikes from the White House when questioned by a reporter.
He had apparently just been told about the attacks as he walked into the Oval Office.
Here’s a clip of the President’s remarks expressing his hope that it end quickly:
Trump reacts to the airstrikes by India in Pakistan.
He says that he “hopes it ends very quickly”.
That’s generally my feeling about the situation as well. Obviously all death is bad, but it’s not really our problem or our business.

The Indian military claims it is hitting “terrorist infrastructure” inside Pakistan, and has announced there would be some sort of cross border attack in advance.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio put out this statement via his X account just a few minutes ago, indicating the U.S. State Department is actively engaged in bringing the hostilities to an end:
I am monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan closely. I echo @POTUS's comments earlier today that this hopefully ends quickly and will continue to engage both Indian and Pakistani leadership towards a peaceful resolution.

Multiple explosions have been heard in Pakistan, and the Pakistani Prime Minister is claiming the “right to respond”, according to CNN:
India has launched a major military operation against Pakistan in a major escalation of tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
The missile strikes early Wednesday morning targeted “terrorist infrastructure” in Pakistan and Pakistan administered-Kashmir, according to India. Pakistan has denied the claim, saying the attack largely harmed civilians – killing at least three, including a child, and injuring at least a dozen.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the country had the right to respond to what he described as an “act of war,” adding that a “befitting reply is being given.”
“These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered,” India’s Ministry of Defense said in a statement, referring to an attack last month tourists in India-administered Kashmir.
Multiple loud explosions have been heard in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, according to a CNN journalist.
Pakistan’s military said India struck with missiles.
The BBC aired a report quoting the Pakistani leadership claiming that its aircraft were in the skies, presumably to strike back inside India.
Here’s that BBC report, including a report from inside a BBC reporter inside India detailing the Indian military’s claims that it is only attacking terror sites — not the Pakistan military:
This is a quickly developing story, and initial details are just emerging as this situation unfolds.
We will bring you updates as soon as more information becomes available.
