Today, Democracy gasps one more labored, dying breath.
Dr. Peter Navarro, a former White House official under President Trump, is widely expected to report to prison authorities in Miami-Dade County today.
The only crime Peter Navarro committed? Serving under President Trump and refusing to comply with a subpoena.
However, not complying with Subpoenas is in vogue today—just look at Hunter Biden.
Dr. Navarro, who is 73 years old, was denied a stay of sentencing pending his appeal. On Monday, Navarro revealed:
“One of the three DEM judges was on BOTH the panel that received my appeal AND the panel that ruled on the appeal. The odds of this are LESS THAN ONE PERCENT.”

CBS News confirmed:
Navarro has been ordered to turn himself into federal prison in Miami by Tuesday.
His attorneys declined to comment on Roberts’ order.
A three-judge panel on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals already rejected his bid to delay the sentence, writing he was unlikely to secure a new trial or reverse his conviction.
Dr. Peter Navarro issued this statement to Justice Roberts following his denial of Navarro’s stay-of-prison request:
“Justice Roberts took care to note that his reason for denial was ‘distinct from [my] pending appeal on the merits.’
That appeal on the merits will continue and if I fail in that appeal – after nonetheless serving my full prison term — the constitutional separation of powers will be irreparably damaged and the doctrine of executive privilege dating back to George Washington will cease to function as an important safeguard for effective presidential decision-making.
There is much at stake here and it is worth the fight. The partisan nature of the imprisoning of a top senior White House aide should chill the bones of every American.
In Joe Biden’s weaponized justice system, a Democrat controlled Congress and Justice Department together with an Obama-appointed District Judge and three Obama-appointed Appeals Court judges drove the Navarro railroad right into prison.
If anybody thinks these partisans and politicians in robes aren’t coming for Donald Trump, they must think twice now.”
Here is the statement I issued after Justice John Roberts decided to reject my release pending appeal.

Conservative influencer Travis asked: “Although it’s common practice, including Obama officials refusing to comply with subpoenas, the DOJ under Joe Biden is the first one to prosecute a former White House official. Is this how you protect democracy?”

CNN provided this statement from one of Navarro’s defense attorneys:
“It’s historic, and will be to future White House aides who get subpoenaed by Congress,” Stanley Brand, a former House general counsel who now represents Navarro as one of his defense lawyers, said on Monday.
