Sunday Gospel: “Jesus Fulfilled The Prophetic Words That Foretold His Coming”

So glad to have Pastor Robb back with us this week.

Yesterday he was not in good health and it looked like we might not get a message from him, but he was able to get this out.

Please send some prayers up for Pastor Robb and I hope you enjoy this week’s message.

Jesus Fulfilled The Prophetic Words That Foretold His Coming

The title of today’s Sunday message is Jesus Fulfilled The Prophetic Words That Foretold His Coming.

Today’s message is quite a prophetic outlook on all the scriptures that Foretold His coming in the future.

To me, it is truly fascinating to study these scriptures.

I pray the message will enlighten and strengthen your faith.

The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever. Amen.

Please continue to pray for President Trump and for Noah’s new book.

I am very grateful for his daily newsletters and updates.

God is good.

Pastor Robb:

Good morning. My name is Pastor Robb, and I am the senior pastor here at Zion Freedom Fellowship in the beautiful state of Maryland—the hot and very humid state of Maryland. Oh my goodness, the humidity is oppressive. It is really up there. Like 97%, I think, today it is. It’ll bake you like an egg out on the sidewalk, I’m telling you. No doubt about it.

Anyway, it’s good to be here with you all this morning. And I’m happy to share with you a message from the Lord today. After we pray, I’ll share the title of today’s message with you. So, let’s go ahead and pray.

Heavenly Father, we thank You and we praise You that You, O Lord, are the Mighty One of Israel, and You are the God that never changes. You will never change. You are the God that holds the heavens and the earth in Your hands, and all things consist by You. All things were made by You, and all things consist by You, Lord.

You hold all things together. You hold all things together. And I thank You, Lord. By You and through You all things consist. Yes, according to the Word of God, all things consist and are held together by Your mighty Word.

Oh, I praise You and I thank You today that You are God in heaven, and You are the God of the earth and everything that’s under the earth. All the demons in hell tremble because they fear Your name. And Lord, I am grateful today that I have a message for you that will encourage you and uplift you. Yes, it will uplift you. It will encourage you, and it will saturate your being. Are you ready? Praise be to God.

Father, we thank You for this Word. We ask You, in the mighty name of Jesus, to minister to the needs of every single person. You know what their needs are. You know exactly what burdens they’re carrying on their shoulders.

Lord, alleviate those burdens. Lord, take them off their backs. Lord, relieve them, Lord, and take them away. Take them away in the mighty name of Jesus, according to Your Word, according to Your plan.

Lord, in Jesus Christ’s holy and mighty name, take every burden. Take them away in Jesus’ name. Amen and amen.

Lord, You are faithful and You are true. You’re faithful and You are true. Thank You. You are faithful and You are true. Thank You so much, Lord.

Take away every burden. Take them away from the people of God. Lord, take them away. Lord, take away the burdens of their heart. Give them a new heart and a new soul, Lord. Give them strength in Jesus’ name.

We praise You and we thank You that You are able to sustain the people, Lord. You’re able to hold them together in Jesus Christ’s holy and mighty name. In Jesus’ name, thank You, Father.

You are so true, and so holy and righteous are You, O Lord. You are holy and righteous. Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord.

Yes, Lord. You’re the holy and mighty God, and we love You, Lord. We love You, Father. We praise You and we thank You because You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. And You, Lord, will never fail.

You’re the God of heaven and earth, and You hold creation together. You hold everything together by Your mighty hand. Oh, thank You, Lord. Thank You, Jesus. You hold everything together. All things. All things.

Lord, You created the atoms. You created all the pieces of the universe, and You hold them together. Thank You, Father. You hold them together.

Let Your name be glorified in Jesus Christ’s holy name.

Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord. You are God. You are God. You are God. And there’s no one like You, Lord. No one like You. Amen. No one like You.

Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Lord.

You know, the Word of God is truth. The Word of God will come to pass. Every word that God has spoken to you personally in a prophetic way will come to pass if you trust Him, if you hold on to Him, if you allow Him to shape and mold your life, and you serve Him with a heart full of joy.

He will bring all these things to pass because He is Almighty God. Hallelujah! He is Almighty God, and no one can stop Him. No man, no one, can stop Him from the work that He has begun.

And He will do this in my life and in yours. He will be alive in my life and in your life. No one can stop Him.

Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Jesus. Woo! Hallelujah! That’s exciting, isn’t it? That is so exciting. That gets me excited.

It gets me excited and gets me wrapped up in Him, that I look to Him, and I know—I look to Him because what He has said will come to pass.

Amen and amen.

What He has said will truly come to pass. Thank You, Jesus. All of His words shall come to pass. Everything that He has spoken will happen just as He has said it.

Thank You, Jesus. Wow. That is a mighty, mighty word right there. That is a mighty word. And everything that He has spoken to you or to me, it will come to pass because He is Almighty God, in Jesus Christ’s holy name. It will truly come to pass.

Thank You. Thank You.

Oh, I love His words. His words are filled with truth. His words are filled with truth.

Okay, let’s talk about how Jesus fulfilled the prophetic words that foretold His coming. Let’s look at His birth and lineage.

Let’s go to Isaiah 7:14. And then we’re going to go to Matthew 1:23. And then we’re going to go to Luke 1:35.

Amen. Praise be to God.

Okay, let’s go first to Isaiah 7, and we’re going to start at verse 14:

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”

Which means, “God with us.”

And you know what? He lives on the inside of you right now. If you’ve asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart as your Lord and your Savior, He will come into your heart, and He will purge away and cleanse away all the sin that has been injected into your life, and He will cause you to become a holy being unto the Lord.

Oh, it’s a wonderful thing to walk with Jesus. It’s a wonderful thing to walk with Jesus.

Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse evil and choose the good.

“For before the child shall know…” I’m sorry.

“For before the child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good…”

I’m sorry.

“Before the child shall know how to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that you dread will be forsaken by both her kings. The Lord will bring the king of Assyria upon you and your people and your father’s house…”

That day will come upon…

I’m sorry. Forgive me.

“…you and your people and your father’s house—those days have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah.”

Wow. This is just amazing.

And in case you missed it, our message from LAST Sunday:

GOSPEL MESSAGE: The Thread of Glory

Happy Sunday everyone!

Our good friend Pastor Robb is off today, so in his place you get a message from Louie Giglio.

It’s called “The Thread of Glory”.

At church today, we had a guest preacher, and they said something that Louie Giglio would take issue with.  It sounds small, but it’s actually a massive shift in perspective.

The guest preacher today said something to the effect of: “Everything God does he does for you and with you in mind.”

And to that Louie Giglio would step in with a polite and humble correction.

Louie would say everything God does is for the Glory of God, and you just happen to also get the benefit along the way.

And if you’re wondering where Louie gets that from, here is just a very small sampling of verses to get you started:  VERSES // Genesis 1:1, Psalm 90:2, Psalm 19:1, Psalm 148:1-13, Genesis 1:26, Acts 7:2-3, Psalm 106:7-8, Exodus 33:22, Isaiah 42:8, Exodus 20:3, Isaiah 43:7, Habakkuk 2:14, Isaiah 48:9-11, Luke 2:14, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Mark 2:12, 2 Peter 1:16-18, John 12:27-28, Philippians 2:9-11, Revelation 4:11, Romans 3:23, Romans 1:18-23, Psalm 106:20, Colossians 1:27, Ephesians 1:3-14, 1 Timothy 1:15-17, Galatians 1:3-5, Luke 17:18, Psalm 63:3, 2 Corinthians 4:7-15, 1 Corinthians 10:31, Colossians 3:17, Matthew 5:16, Isaiah 26:8, John 21:19, Philippians 4:19, Colossians 3:4, 1 Peter 5:10, Ephesians 3:20-21, Revelation 21:22-23, Philippians 4:20, Romans 16:27, Romans 11:36, Jude 1:24-25

Here’s a quick summary and then I’ll just get you right into the message:

This sermon’s central message is simple but sweeping:

Everything exists for the glory of God—including you.

The speaker argues that this truth is the unifying theme running from the first page of Scripture to the last, and that most Christians have unintentionally adopted a worldview that makes life primarily about themselves rather than about God.

Main Thesis

The speaker says modern culture teaches:

“My life is about me.”

But Scripture teaches:

“My life is about God.”

The purpose of human life is not primarily happiness, success, fulfillment, or even salvation itself—it is the glory of God. Those blessings are real, but they are benefits of God’s greater purpose rather than the ultimate goal.

What “Glory” Means

A large portion of the sermon explains the biblical meaning of glory.

  • In Hebrew, glory carries the idea of weight, substance, importance, worth.
  • In Greek it emphasizes honor, praise, and splendor.

So God’s glory refers to His unmatched worth and infinite value.

God alone possesses intrinsic worth that no created thing can rival.

The Greatest Problem

According to the sermon, the greatest deception Christians face isn’t outright unbelief.

It’s making God into someone who exists primarily to serve us.

Examples include:

  • God is there to help me.
  • Church is about what I get out of it.
  • Worship is about how it makes me feel.
  • The cross is mainly about me.
  • God’s will is mainly about my career or plans.

The speaker insists all of these contain truth—but become distorted when they place the individual instead of God at the center.

The Cross

One of the strongest sections argues that Jesus did not go to the cross merely to demonstrate how valuable humans are.

Instead:

  • God certainly loves sinners.
  • Jesus truly died to save sinners.
  • But the cross ultimately reveals the greatness and glory of God Himself.

The cross displays a God unlike any false god because He gives Himself for His people rather than demanding they earn His favor.

Why God Exalts Himself

The sermon anticipates an objection:

Isn’t it arrogant for God to make everything about Himself?

The answer given is:

No.

If God truly is the highest good in existence, then pointing people toward Himself is actually the most loving thing He can do.

The illustration used is an emergency-room doctor who pushes through a crowd to save a dying victim. Nobody calls the doctor arrogant because the doctor is uniquely qualified to save the person’s life.

Likewise, God points people to Himself because there is nothing better He could give them.

This one is an absolute life-changer when you start to really understand it and let it sink in.

Your entire perspective will shift.
