Much of the entertainment industry might be falling in line behind the far-left takeover of the Democrat Party, but there are more than a few voices from Hollywood willing to speak out against the extremism of socialists like New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
One recent example came after Mamdani’s office released a map of immigrant populations across the city, with a few notable examples including Jews and Italians.
Italian-American actor Robert Davi, known for his work in classic films like “Die Hard,” had something to say, as the New York Post reported:
“My grandfather enlisted in World War I and got wounded three times … he helped build New York City as an immigrant, an Italian immigrant.
ADVERTISEMENT“I was born in Astoria, Queens, you jerk. I understand the lifeblood of New York City and the immigrant populations and all peoples.
Then he gave 34-year-old Mamdani — born in Kampala, Uganda — some advice.
“Go back to where you belong, Mamdani, go back to where you belong and run for office there,” thundered the actor, who lives in Apollo Beach, Fla., and played played FBI Special Agent Big Johnson in “Die Hard.”

Davi’s opinion attracted some support in the comments:
Amen! We need more people to speak up. The Socialists are attempting to ruin this country

I am so glad that the New Yorkers are getting to know him and treating him how he deserves.

It’s amazing how all the bullshit that he was saying when he was trying to get elected, but it was great. Now he’s in office. Everybody realize he’s been blowing smoke up your ass. It’s like the Democrats.

Fox News provided these details:
The “New York City Immigrant Enclaves” map resurfaced this week on social media after users noted it omitted Little Italy, as well as Jewish and Irish neighborhoods, despite highlighting 30 immigrant communities across the five boroughs. The map is part of the city’s Neighborhood Passport campaign tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The omission drew criticism from the Italian American Civil Rights League (IACRL), which accused the administration of erasing one of the communities that helped build New York.
“Zohran Mamdani wants to ERASE Italian Americans. First, he denied our permit for Unity Day 2026. Now, he is excluding Little Italy as a recognized location all together on the map,” the group wrote on X.
Here’s what Mamdani said when asked about the broader concerns about Little Italy’s exclusion from the map:
