‘Frasier’ Star Reveals Why He’s ‘Likely’ Going To Announce A Run For Public Office

Although he has spoken out generally in support of conservative values on occasion, Kelsey Grammer remains most closely associated with Hollywood … and the legendary sitcom character Frasier Crane, which has portrayed in two hit shows and a recent reboot.

But now that he’s getting older, the “Frasier” star says he’s interested in giving something back to his community.

The Hill reported on his recent remarks:

“It would possibly tick that box for me, in terms of the service I feel I should have given to my fellow man — to my fellow countrymen — that I missed in the military,” Grammer told Us Weekly. “Maybe that would be the way to do it. I have wrestled with it.”

Grammer, 71, went on to say that he might wait until his youngest children are older if he were to run for public office. But he doesn’t consider his own age to be a hindrance.

“I’m vital and prepared to stay that way for quite a while, and yes, it’s likely I will at least throw my hat in the ring in some way,” he told the outlet.

Despite Hollywood’s far-left reputation, Grammer wouldn’t be the first actor to transition to a right-leaning (or at least RINO) politician.

His flirtation with a political bid was enough to spark some social media reaction:

Here’s some additional coverage from USA Today:

Grammer, a longtime Republican, has aligned himself closely with President Donald Trump during his second administration. The “Frasier” actor appeared at the Kennedy Center Honors in December and lauded Trump as “one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had” ahead of the celebration.

In May, Grammer moderated a discussion with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent about Trump Accounts, which set up newborns with investment accounts, in Southern California.

Grammer, who previously claimed that being a registered Republican is the “worst thing you can be” in the entertainment industry, said in a February podcast appearance that “I’ve lost some friends through the last few years, but I’ve gained others.” He added he believes it’s “not popular” for people with different political values to find middle ground.
