BREAKING: U.S. Military Conducts New Airstrikes on Iran After Drone Attack on Cargo Ship

This is a breaking news story.

The U.S. military has just hit back at Iran.

Following Iran’s violation of the recent ceasefire, the U.S. carried out a new round of airstrikes.

U.S. Central Command announced that U.S. strikes targeted Iranian drone storage and radar sites.

CENTCOM’s full statement reads:

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted strikes against Iran, June 26, as a powerful response to yesterday’s attack on a commercial ship that was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites after Iran hit M/V Ever Lovely on June 25 with a one-way attack drone. The Singapore-flagged cargo ship was exiting the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani coast at the time of Iran’s attack.

The unwarranted aggression against commercial shipping by Iranian forces clearly violated the ceasefire. Furthermore, Iran’s dangerous behavior undermined freedom of navigation as commerce increasingly flows through the vital international trade corridor.

CENTCOM forces continue to provide safe passage coordination and support to commercial vessels transiting the strait. The U.S. military remains present and vigilant to ensure all aspects of the agreement with Iran are adhered to, obeyed, and in full force and effect.

Fox News provided further coverage in this clip:

This marks the first instance of American force against Iran since the ceasefire deal was signed last week.

On Thursday, Iran violated that deal when one of their drones attacked a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

A one-way drone launched by Iran on Thursday struck the Singapore-flagged cargo ship Ever Lovely in the strait off the coast of Oman, according to Central Command. The vessel was able to continue on its way.

“The unwarranted aggression against commercial shipping by Iranian forces clearly violated the ceasefire,” Central Command said.

“Furthermore, Iran’s dangerous behavior undermined freedom of navigation as commerce increasingly flows through the vital international trade corridor,” Central Command said.

The attack comes more than a week after Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing a permanent peace deal to end the war between their two nations.

Just around an hour ago, President Trump warned that we would “find out” soon when asked by a reporter if the U.S. would response to Iran breaking the ceasefire.
