Tucker Carlson Reveals If He Will Run for President In 2028

Tucker Carlson has been all over the place in recent weeks.

As WLT Report previously reported in a recent interview on the Canadian podcast “Can’t Be Censored,” Tucker Carlson revealed he will no longer be supporting the Republican Party.

Here’s the moment he said it:

Carlson’s comments immediately sparked rumors that the former Fox News host would run for President himself in 2028.

Now, Tucker Carlson has addressed those rumors and has revealed he has no interest of running for President.

The Hill reported more on Tucker Carlson’s latest remarks:

Pundit Tucker Carlson on Tuesday ruled out any plans to launch a bid for the presidency in 2028, days after saying he no longer supports the Republican Party.

“Of course, I’m not planning to run for president,” he told former “InfoWars” host Alex Jones during an interview streamed on the social platform X. “I mean, of course, I’ve, you know, I’ve never said or done anything that would suggest I have an interest in political office because I don’t. I never have had an interest in political office ever. It’s just not kind of what I do for a living.”

Carlson said he “really doesn’t like politicians” and added that he likes President Trump, calling him very funny.

Jones then asked if Carlson likes Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who are both perceived as potential candidates to succeed Trump in 2028.

“Obviously, [Vance] is great compared to Rubio,” he said. “Look, I’ll support the best person. I have always liked JD Vance enormously. I think he’s really smart.”

Carlson added that Vance is in a “really tough situation,” referring to the vice president leading negotiations with Iranian officials to secure a final deal to end the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran and determine the future of the Islamic regime’s nuclear program.

Center Square reported JD Vance currently leads all Republicans in recent polling for the Republican presidential nomination:

Two years out from the 2028 presidential primary season, Vice President JD Vance remains the clear frontrunner for the 2028 Republican presidential primary, the top choice for 36% of Republicans and right-leaning Independents surveyed in the latest The Center Square Voters’ Voice Poll.

The former U.S. senator from Ohio has maintained a substantial lead, securing roughly twice as much support as the next top contender in both this most recent poll and The Center Square’s previous poll conduct in March. In this case, Marco Rubio was voters’ next choice among those presented with 17% of participants, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at a distant 7%.

Seventeen percent of voters indicated they were unsure of who they would support in 2028.

Rubio and DeSantis both enjoyed an uptick this time, likely due at least in part to the absence of Donald Trump Jr.’s name from the list of possible candidates. The president’s eldest son had been listed on previous polls and was twice the second pick behind Vance. In October, he polled at 25% to Vance’s 38% – the closest anyone has come to challenging the vice president. In March, some of that enthusiasm transferred to Rubio, who went from just 5% in October to 9%. Trump Jr. secured 19% support to Vance’s 36% in March.
