The steady supply of extremists coming out the woodwork at the Democratic National Committee this election season continues to spark headlines as the midterms draw nearer.
One recent example comes out of Colorado, where a far-left congressional candidate is already proposing legislation that would enshrine the supposed “rights” of minors to undergo irreversible gender-reassignment procedures.
According to Breitbart, Melat Kiros outlined the controversial initiative during a recent interview:
“Like, we’re actually updating the website right now. I wrote all of our policy page a year ago now, but we’re updating it this week, and some of the things that we’re adding in there is also a Trans Bill of Rights,” she said, calling for greater “force” in pushing the transgender agenda.
ADVERTISEMENT“You know, I think we have to be so forceful and clear and aggressive in our protection and our advocacy for the trans community, especially for trans kids,” she continued, asserting that there are ballot measures in Colorado coming up that she considers to be “just horrific” and “absolutely destructive for young trans kids.”
One such ballot measure she is likely referring to — Initiative No. 110 –— is an effort to prohibit genital mutilation surgery on children.
It states that a healthcare professional or other individual “shall not knowingly perform, prescribe, administer, or provide any surgery to a minor for the purpose of altering biological sex characteristics.” It also prohibits federal and state funds from paying for such “medical interventions.”
The outlet also published a clip from the interview on X, where it received substantial engagement:
Not snipping your nads off is "horrific". Got it.

Trans folk only deserve the same bill of rights the rest of us have

A local PBS affiliate reported on a recent rally during which the candidate harped on her socialist plans to applause from the leftist crowd:
Kiros, wearing a blue button-up, jeans and white sneakers, struck a defiant tone to near-constant applause. During her speech, she called for universal health care, universal child care and for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“We know the reason that nothing ever changes is because our representatives are bought and paid for by the same billionaires and corporations that got us into this mess in the first place,” she said. “They ran us around all week, cancelling on us at multiple venues, because we are bringing together a movement of people that are refusing to accept the world as it is and are demanding better.”
ADVERTISEMENTSusan Levy, 51, attended the rally with her 18-year-old son, Xander.
“With the influence of my son here, I’m learning a lot and it’s time for change,” she said. “The world is different and we do not need to keep it all the same like we’ve been keeping it. It’s time to make a change.”
This year will be Xander Levy’s first time voting. He said he’s “grateful” to have a candidate he feels proud to support.
And polling with just days to go until the primary show that her message appears to be resonating across the increasingly deep-blue state:
