After Celebrating Charlie Kirk’s Death, TikToker Shares Incredible Turnaround In Viral Video

One of the most unfortunate byproducts of America’s deeply divided culture is the fact that countless leftists openly celebrate the death (and mock the life) of Charlie Kirk nearly a year after he was assassinated during an event meant to promote free speech.

But not all of those who made such heartless comments are still standing by them.

As one popular social media user explained in a recent clip, actually listening to Kirk’s arguments after mocking the TurningPoint USA founder’s death made him reconsider all of his preconceived notions.

After Elon Musk shared the video, it quickly dominated feeds on X, generating this summary:

TikTok user Shabooki Sunshine describes how watching Charlie Kirk’s debates exposed flaws in his own views, leading him to reconcile with family and see Kirk as a hero. Elon Musk reposted the video on X, where it drew praise from conservatives like Nick Freitas for showing Kirk’s lasting influence through dialogue. Kirk, 31, was fatally shot by sniper fire at a Utah Valley University event on September 10, 2025; 22-year-old Tyler Robinson faces aggravated murder charges with prosecutors seeking the death penalty. While some dismiss the story, supporters see it as proof Kirk’s persuasive style endures posthumously.

Here are a few of the top comments to Musk’s post and a couple of others highlighting the same video:

Unfortunately, initial reactions like this social media user’s celebration were not uncommon. One Fox News report days after the assassination captured some of the reprehensible behavior reported at Clemson University:

In the video, posted to X by Jackson Heaberlin, the woman is confronted by a man off camera who asks why she felt the need to make jokes about the incident.

“Why do you support the public execution of Charlie Kirk? Do you feel proud in your ideology, ma’am? At least look me in the eye and talk about it. I’m open to talking about it,” he says.

At first the woman refuses to engage, but instead of backing down she eventually begins mocking Kirk’s death.

“Because he’s a terrible person, and he deserved to die,” the woman said as she made a crying gesture with her hands to mock the man questioning her and Kirk’s supporters.

At the same college, such objectionable responses apparently extended to the faculty lounge:
