Florida Police Release Final Report On Hulk Hogan’s Cause of Death

It’s been nearly a year since legendary WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan died.

Now Florida police have finally released their final report regarding the cause of the legendary wrestler’s death.

In July of last year, first responders arrived to the home of Hogan after they received a 911 call for a cardiac arrest incident.

As first responders arrived they performed life saving measures on Hogan and he was later transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Now Clearwater authorities have released the official cause of Hogan’s death and revealed there was no foul play.

NBC News provided full details from the police report:

Terry Bollea — known professionally as Hulk Hogan — died of natural causes, according to a report released Friday by the Clearwater Police Department, concluding its investigation into the July 2025 death of the legendary pro wrestler. He was 71.

Clearwater authorities previously told NBC News that officers responded to a cardiac arrest call at 9:51 a.m. on July 24 of last year at his home. Hogan was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 11:17 a.m.

An autopsy determined Hogan died “exclusively from compelling natural disease, with no reasonable traumatic or terminal toxicologic contributions,” and ruled the manner of death as natural.

Clearwater police said there was no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.

“Under the circumstances, it fell to the Clearwater Police Department to address, challenge, or validate some of the concerns in the case,” the department wrote. “Investigators had to interview multiple witnesses and review various recordings to answer questions central to our inquiry.”

Police closed the investigation on Friday, releasing details of the 911 call made on the day of his death as well as information from an interview with his occupational therapist.

In the 911 call, his wife Sky Daily Hogan is recorded saying, “My husband — it doesn’t seem like he’s breathing.”

According to the report, home health aide Dana Swinton said that she, Sky Daily Hogan, and occupational therapist Justin McCamey were all at the residence when Hogan stopped breathing. McCamey, who had been Hogan’s therapist for only two weeks, had arrived roughly 10 minutes before the incident. The three attempted CPR before the fire department arrived.

The roughly 70-page report also includes statements from officers who responded to and surveyed the scene at the former wrestling star’s Eldorado Avenue home. One account notes that a firefighter was called to assist with moving Hogan from the residence, while other members of the Clearwater Fire Department were already performing lifesaving measures.

Before his sudden death, Hogan dedicated his life to Jesus and was even baptized.

One of professional wrestling’s biggest icons, Hulk Hogan, died unexpectedly on Thursday at the age of 71, less than two years after he announced publicly he was dedicating his life to Jesus.

Florida authorities responded to a “morning call about a cardiac arrest,” the AP reported, and Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, was reportedly pronounced dead at a hospital.

Just before Christmas in 2023, Hogan made a public profession of Christ, as reported by The Lion.

“Total surrender and dedication to Jesus is the greatest day of my life. No worries, no hate, no judgment… only love!”

Hogan’s iconic persona rose to fame in the 1980s as professional wrestling grew in popularity. Though he officially retired from the sport in 2012, he’s remained an icon decades after his initial rise to fame.

“You can’t possibly overrate his significance in the history of the business, and he sold more tickets to wrestling shows than any man who ever lived and I don’t expect anyone to ever sell more tickets than he did,” sports historian Dave Meltzer wrote on X a few years ago.

His public profession of faith was the latest in a series of bold statements by the star, who came back to the faith in the last few years. In August 2023, Hogan appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast, donning a T-shirt with the famous John 3:16 passage across the chest.

Hogan explained in the podcast how he came to faith at 14 but strayed from God as he entered adulthood. After reaching unprecedented fame in the world of wrestling, the cultural icon realized that even reaching the absolute peak of his profession didn’t satisfy the true longing of his heart.
