It was the admission heard ‘round the world when Jill Biden said during a recent interview that she was afraid her husband had suffered a stroke during his disastrously bad debate performance against President Donald Trump in 2024.
But that stands in stark contrast to the celebratory reaction she gave in the immediate aftermath of the performance, and that disparity has opened her up to a wide array of criticism from across the political spectrum in recent days.
Perhaps most surprisingly, her ex-spokesperson was included among those who publicly remarked on the matter, as Fox News reported:
Former Jill Biden spokesman Michael LaRosa accused the former first lady of trying to “change the tape” after she revealed in a recent interview that she feared President Biden was having a stroke during his disastrous 2024 debate performance.
ADVERTISEMENTJill is facing criticism for an apparent reversal of her feelings about her husband’s performance in his debate against then-candidate Donald Trump.
“They’re trying to change the tape in people’s minds about who she is… that’s why she’s sort of changing her tune a little bit about her reaction in real time,” LaRosa said. “She wants to say, ‘Oh no, my reaction was just as concerning and was just as severe as everyone at home. I was shocked.'”
Jill Biden’s comments during the recent interview, along with the midterm-aligned timing of her memoir release, have fueled an array of disapproving social media content:
Jill Biden is truly evil. She is a pathological liar. She's a sociopath. She doesn't care about her husband's health. And no, she did not believe Kamala was going to win.
Jill Biden, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris – all cut from the same, despicable cloth.

Awesome game plan from his inner circle: cover up his dementia for 4 years & then once he’s out of office cash in by writing a book about the cover up.

Here’s what commentator Stephen A. Smith had to say about it, via the New York Post:
“That last part really, really disturbed me, and it really bothered me,” the fiery frequent political commentator told former Gov. Andrew Cuomo on his “Pulse of the People” WABC radio show, referring to Jill’s admission.
Just after the debate, Jill actually congratulated her clearly befuddled husband during a campaign stop, gushing, “Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question, you knew all the facts.”
Smith raged, “[A]t that time, his wife comes out, and she applauds his effort, and she said he was wonderful and he answered all the questions and all of this other stuff.”
ADVERTISEMENTThat only gives fodder to the narrative that Democrats are “dishonest, not forthcoming, not open and always trying to find a way to manipulate and dictate a narrative,” Smith said.
Smith recalled how he publicly pushed for a new presidential candidate at the time because he witnessed Joe Biden’s decline.
“They had an opportunity to push him out and to position themselves to have a primary where a viable candidate to go up against Donald Trump would have been, would have, would have happened the right way,” he argued.
There was even some disapproval from the panelists on ABC’s “The View”:
