The President Trump administration just turned one of its biggest pro-family promises into something parents can actually hold in their hands.

On May 28, 2026, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that the official Trump Accounts app is live on major app stores nationwide.

This is the part where a Washington policy stops being a press release and starts being a real account for a real child.

Treasury says the app will be the main interface for the program, and that account activation begins now for millions of American families ahead of the official launch on July 4, 2026.

Here is the timeline that matters for parents.

Families who already signed their children up by submitting IRS Form 4547 will start receiving activation emails, sent in phases between now and Independence Day.

Then, beginning July 4, eligible children start receiving the $1,000 pilot contribution from Treasury, deposited directly into their Trump Account.

The accounts can also begin accepting eligible contributions, subject to annual limits.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent framed the launch as opening the door to American kids who have never had a seat at the table.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury said:

WASHINGTON—Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the launch of the Trump Accounts app on app stores available nationwide. The Trump Accounts app will be the main interface for the most historic policy for American families in decades and is available on all major mobile app stores.

“The Trump Administration is taking another step forward in expanding opportunity for American families. The Trump Accounts app delivers a simple, secure way for households to begin engaging with a program designed to build long-term financial strength from day one,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. “By putting easy access to Trump Accounts directly in the hands of parents and young Americans, we are helping to ensure that America’s youth are included in this new era of economic participation.”

The next phase of the Trump Accounts program will include account activation beginning for millions of American families ahead of the official launch on July 4, 2026.

As of today, parents and legal guardians who have already signed their children up for Trump Accounts by submitting IRS Form 4547 will begin receiving emails with instructions to complete the account setup process.

Activation e-mails for these families will be sent out in phases between now and July 4, 2026.

The basics are easy to understand, which is the whole point.

TrumpAccounts.gov explains the basics this way:

The power of time in the market

Your account balance will grow over time on its own, whether you choose to contribute additionally or not. You may contribute up to $5,000 per year to accelerate gains.

So no family is required to put in a dime, and the seed money comes from the government side starting July 4.

Parents who want to grow the account further can add up to $5,000 a year.

With any program this big, the scammers are already circling, and Treasury is telling families exactly how to stay safe.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury warned:

As Trump Account activation begins, Treasury reminds families to remain vigilant against scams and frauds. The information below will help you know what is real and how to protect yourself during this initial phase:

At this time, legitimate communications about Trump Account activation will be sent only by email from no-reply@TrumpAccounts.Treasury.gov.

Treasury will not contact you by text message or phone call about Trump Account activation. If you receive a call or text about a Trump Account, do not respond, it is likely a scam.

Always access your child’s Trump Account by using the official Trump Accounts app or by typing TrumpAccounts.gov directly into your browser.

Customer support is available only through secure, in-app or online callback requests. Don’t use phone numbers found through internet search results.

When in doubt, visit TrumpAccounts.gov for the latest information.

Parents, guardians, and other authorized individuals can elect to open an account at any time by submitting IRS Form 4547, Trump Account Election(s), including enrollment in the pilot program.

The rule of thumb is simple: reach your child’s account only through the official app or by typing TrumpAccounts.gov directly into your browser.

Conservative outlet Breitbart reported the same day that Treasury launched the app nationwide, describing the program as an effort to encourage long-term investing from an early age through government-backed starter accounts.

The White House followed up the next day with the download links and a notable claim about how fast families were jumping in.

For all the years of Washington promises that never reach a kitchen table, this one shows up as an app on a phone and a thousand dollars in a child’s name.

That is the kind of policy families can see, touch, and check the balance on, and the official launch is only weeks away.
