Time and time again, Democrats have made it clear that they are opposed to anything President Trump does — whether that’s war in Iran or building a much-needed White House ballroom.
But, this latest move really pushes the limits of how far TDS can go…
You see, this time, Democrats are trying to stop something that hasn’t even happened yet!
A group of Senate Democrats introduced a war powers resolution that would have prevented President Trump from taking military action in Cuba.
Like clockwork, Senate Republicans defeated the resolution in a 51-47 vote.
Here are the details:

In case you are wondering, three RINOs (the usual suspects) sided with Democrats to move the resolution forward.
One Democrat — Sen. Fetterman — sided with Republicans to vote down the resolution.
From Fox News:
The resolution, introduced by Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., would require the removal of forces from within or around Cuba and considers the “use of the United States Coast Guard and other components of the Armed Forces to conduct a blockade or quarantine of Cuba” a hostile act that would require Congress’ approval.
Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., moved to block the bill from getting a full vote on the floor. His gamble was successful, though Sens. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Susan Collins, R-Maine, joined nearly every Senate Democrat to force the vote. Only Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., broke ranks to support tanking the resolution.
ADVERTISEMENTStill, Trump has not taken action on Cuba while the U.S. is engaged in the war in Iran.
Of course, this comes after five war powers resolutions aimed at restricting President Trump’s ability to act against Iran were similarly struck down.
Over the last few months, President Trump has repeatedly signaled that Cuba is next on his list, after the Iran war is wrapped up.
CBS News has more on that:
Since the U.S. military captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in January, Mr. Trump has warned that he has had his sights set on Cuba. He has said that he believed he would have “the honor of taking Cuba” and that “Cuba’s going to be next.”
Earlier this month, Mr. Trump said military action against Cuba is still on the table.
“We may stop by Cuba after we’re finished with this,” he said, referring to the Iran war.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been more direct about the administration’s possible goals in Cuba, testifying to Congress in January that “we would love to see the regime there change.” He said it would be of “great benefit” to the U.S. and has also called for economic reforms. The administration has said it is looking to resolve its concerns with Cuba through diplomacy, but has not ruled out some kind of military action.
