President Trump Calls Iran’s Push To Use Human Shields At Power Plants And Bridges “Illegal”

President Trump has responded to the Iranian regime using human shields at bridges and power plants across the country.

On Tuesday, the Iranian regime called on its youth to flock to bridges and power plants after the President threatened to conduct an airstrike on them.

Some citizens and adults who brought their children answered the call and were seen on videos protesting at several power plants and bridges.

President Trump has since responded to Iran’s actions as illegal.

NBC News reported more on Trump’s response to Iran’s move:

In a brief phone call with NBC News, President Trump declined to provide any update on the status of ongoing negotiations with the Iranians, but he sharply criticized Iran’s call for young people to line up as human shields around power plants.

“Totally illegal,” he said. “They’re not allowed to do that.”

As for what motivated him to post this morning that “a whole civilization will die tonight” — a comment that has drawn backlash from around the world — he would only say: “You’ll have to figure that out.”

Iran called on its youth Tuesday to form human chains around its power plants — after President Trump threatened to decimate the Islamic Republic’s energy infrastructure if Tehran fails to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

“Power plants that are our national assets and capital, regardless of any taste or political viewpoint, belong to the future of Iran and to the Iranian youth,” Alireza Rahimi, secretary of the Supreme Council of Youth and Adolescents, said in a video aired on state TV.

Government officials have called on students, artists, and athletes to form the human shields from 2 p.m. local time — and video showed hordes of Iranians complying within hours, including on several bridges, waving the country’s red, white and green flag and unfurling a massive version across at least one span.
