BREAKING: Sh*ts Fired At Rhode Island Ice Skating Rink — Multiple Victims


This afternoon, a horrific shooting took place during a high school boys’ hockey game at an indoor ice skating rink in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Tragically, at least one young girl was killed.

Four others were hospitalized with injuries.

The shooter has also been reported dead.

At this time, we don’t know any details about the gunman or his motive.

The deceased suspect was a man, who has not been identified at this time. The condition of the people in the hospital was unknown as of 4 p.m.

One student leaving the rink told 12 News he recalled hearing several “bangs” and then people began to run for the exits as they realized they were hearing gunshots.

An employee of a nearby Walgreens told Target 12 that people came into the pharmacy panicking, saying there had been a shooting. The employee said they called 911 and closed the store.

The shooting triggered a massive police response, as law enforcement vehicles surrounded the arena. Shortly after the shooting, a large crowd of hockey players were seen standing outside the arena, some still in their socks after removing their ice skates, before they were taken away.

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee says he and the mayor are monitoring the situation.

Per NBC Boston:

The shooting took place at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena, where a huge police presence was seen on Monday. The entrance was taped off.

“I just spoke with Mayor Grebien as well as the Rhode Island State Police who are working with local law enforcement,” he said in a statement, adding, “I am praying for Pawtucket and everyone involved.”

This is absolutely terrible.
