With leftists in the state pushing to essentially decriminalize lower-level property crime and prosecutors turning a blind eye to even more serious offenses, it’s no wonder California has devolved into a
Celebrity Morgan Stewart recently shared the experience she and others in her Hollywood circle have experienced.
As the New York Post reported:
One of the most painful losses came just two days after she returned from France with a coveted Hermès Birkin bag.
ADVERTISEMENT“Bought it in France, brought it home, stolen out of my house two days later,” Stewart recounted.
She said the burglars struck after a security guard fell asleep, smashing through her office door before raiding the couple’s bedroom.
“They went into our bedroom and ransacked my husband’s watches.”
The thieves walked away with multiple rare handbags but mysteriously left behind an entire glass display case full of designer bags.
Stewart believes they assumed the case was alarmed.
In another break-in, she said, security intercepted the burglars on a nearby hillside as they fled with her jewelry. The repeated invasions have forced her to transform her property into something resembling “Fort Knox.”
The celebrity said she the crimes upset her — but she also painted a grim picture of life in one of Southern California’s wealthiest enclaves.
Her remarks didn’t elicit much sympathy on social media, though:
Many of these people probably made fun of Spencer Pratt when he was running for Mayor. Are any of them smart enough to read between the lines?

The Hollywood Reporter added these details:
“I was just furious. I was angry. I’m pissed. It’s a violation,” she said of the emotions she experienced after the fact. “I saw the video of them climbing over my gate in the middle of the day. And they had six bags on each arm, and they tossed them over the gate onto the driveway. I’m like, ‘You are so disrespectful. Hop politely because you’ve just scratched the Box Kelly I just got.’ It was literally just like trash on the floor.”
Stewart also revealed that she experienced a second burglary at her home. “My security caught them on the hillside,” she said. “That was when they took all my jewelry. But we got it back, thank God.”
And here’s a look at just how tenuous the situation has become across the Golden State:
