This is a major update in the current investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.
Two weeks ago, NBC News star Savannah Guthrie announced her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, had gone missing from her Arizona home.
Since her disappearance, the Guthrie family has received ransom notes from the alleged kidnapper, but the FBI has yet to confirm whether the ransom notes are from an actual kidnapper or rather just a copycat looking to cash in on the disappearance of Nancy.
The FBI has now reported that it will soon release a photo of a potential subject.
CNN was the first to break the story and provided the following details:
The FBI will soon release a new image from a camera at Nancy Guthrie’s house showing a person who appears to be wearing a mask and carrying a backpack or tools, NBC News reported, citing a source familiar with the investigation.
The person is considered a “subject” in the investigation, the network said, and the bureau hopes assistance from the public can help gather more information about this individual. The image is not clear, according to NBC.
The FBI did not immediately comment on the report. Guthrie has been missing since February 1. Her family, including “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, has released three online videos begging for her release.

Yahoo News reported authorities recovered a security camera that was on Guthrie’s roof:
Police activity intensified Friday at the Tucson home of Nancy Guthrie as investigators continued searching for clues in her disappearance.
Multiple law enforcement vehicles were seen at the property throughout the day, and authorities later towed away a blue SUV.
Officials were also observed removing a wired device, which appears to be a camera, from the roof, though it remains unclear how either item factors into the investigation. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has not yet explained why the vehicle was seized.
ADVERTISEMENTAccording to the New York Post, Nancy’s neighbor, Laura Gergano, admitted she tipped off the police to check the missing octogenarian’s roof due to its clean condition compared to others.
Investigators have also been using AI to assist in the search for Nancy Guthrie:
