Minnesota Governor Candidate Ends Campaign After Daughter Horrifically M*rdered

A gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota has dropped out of the race after a horrific family tragedy.

On Saturday night, the 22-year-old daughter of Republican Jeff Johnson was stabbed to death in her own home.

It’s suspected that she was murdered by her own husband.

Daughter of Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson killed in St. Cloud stabbing

Minnesota Republican gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson’s daughter was killed in a domestic stabbing over the weekend in St. Cloud, Minn.

Hallie Marie Tobler, 22, of St. Cloud, died from multiple stab wounds, according to a statement from the St. Cloud Police Department (SCPD) on Sunday.

Police said in the statement that the suspect is Hallie’s husband, Dylan Michael Tobler, 23, who has been hospitalized with self-inflicted injuries.

According to St. Cloud police:

Officers responded to reports of a medical emergency at an apartment on 40th Avenue South at about 8:20 p.m. on Saturday.

They found Hallie Tobler dead from multiple stab wounds, and her husband with life-threatening injuries. Both were inside the locked apartment.

“Based on the investigation, it is believed that (the husband’s) injuries are self-inflicted and that he is the person responsible for Hallie’s injuries and death,” police said in a news release.

Hallie’s husband and alleged murder, Dylan Michael Tobler, survived his injuries.

This evil man is now in police custody.

The New York Post reported:

Dylan, who is now in stable condition, has been taken into police custody and is expected to be hit with homicide charges in connection with Hallie’s death following his release from the hospital, cops added.

As a result of this devastating loss, Jeff Johnson is understandably suspending his campaign.

Statement on Dr. Jeff Johnson Family Tragedy

The Minnesota Republican Party is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Dr. Jeff Johnson’s daughter, who was killed in a violent crime Saturday night in St. Cloud.

There are no words that can adequately express the sorrow we feel for Jeff and his family. The loss of a child is unimaginable, and our thoughts and prayers are with them as they grieve this devastating tragedy.

Out of respect for his family and the enormity of this loss, Jeff has suspended his campaign for Governor of Minnesota. We ask all Minnesotans to join us in lifting up the Johnson family during this incredibly painful time.

We also extend our gratitude to the first responders and law enforcement officers involved and ask for patience and compassion as the investigation continues
