As WLT Report previously reported, Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home.
After a preliminary investigation, the Los Angeles Police Department revealed Reiner’s son Nick was a person of interest.
Now LAPD has placed Nick Reiner under arrest on suspicion of murdering his father Rob and his mother Michele Reiner.
NBC News provided further details on the update on the brutal murder of Rob Reiner and his wife:
Nick Reiner, the younger son of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner, has been arrested and booked on suspicion of murdering his parents after they were found dead Sunday in their Los Angeles-area home.
Jim McDonnell, chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, said Monday at a news conference that police had taken Nick Reiner into custody and he was being held on $4 million bail.
McDonnell also confirmed that the Reiners had been found dead after LAPD responded to a call on Sunday afternoon. A source close to the family told NBC News that the two appeared to have suffered stab wounds.
It was not immediately known if Nick Reiner has legal representation.
The death of Rob Reiner, a noted actor and filmmaker, has shocked Hollywood stars and his fans across the world. He built a huge reputation through acting in, producing and directing a string of hit movies in the 1980s and ’90s.

CBS News provided some background details on Nick Reiner:
Rob Reiner was 78 and Michele Singer Reiner was 68. They married in 1989 and had three children.
Nick Reiner was credited as a writer for the movie “Being Charlie,” which was directed by his father and debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015. The two also promoted the movie together.
ADVERTISEMENTThe film, which told the story of a teenager struggling with drug addiction and rehab, was “loosely based on things Nick went through and his relationship to me and his mother,” Rob Reiner said in a 2016 AOL interview alongside his son. “It was intense. it was difficult at times.”
“I wasn’t really that shy about including some of the bad stuff I did,” Nick Reiner said during the joint interview, “because a lot of people do things that are pretty unsavory when they’re going through that, but in terms of making it a narrative, of course it’s not my life.” He also said, “I think I can relate to it of course, and I hope other people can relate to it.”
Nick Reiner told People magazine in an interview promoting the movie’s 2016 release that the film also drew from his experience living on the streets when he didn’t want to go to rehab.
