The New York Post has the latest update:

The shooting happened at the city’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Union Street S near the intersection with Corban Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m.

The city said visitors should leave the area and drivers should seek alternate routes.

Witnesses say that they were watching a dance performance when the gunfire started.

From Queen City News:

“I’m older and I wouldn’t expect something like that to go on,” one attendee said. “There’s kids out here, you know, it’s a happy time.”

The city’s Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday in the same area, but no change has been announced for that event.

No suspects have been identified yet.

We’ll bring you any further updates as they come in.

Please pray for all of the victims and their loved ones.
