Two Dead After Plane Crashes Into Semi-Trucks In Texas


Tragic news has surfaced from Fort Worth, Texas.

A plane crashed in Fort Worth resulting in the death of two people.

According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, the plane crashed into two semi-trucks that was parked alongside a road which resulting in them to immediately burst into flames.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Fox 4 News was on of the first local outlets to report on the tragic crash:

Fort Worth Fire Department confirms there has been a plane crash near Hicks Airfield, just off of Business 287 in Tarrant County.

The crash happened in the 12700 block of N. Saginaw Blvd., near Avondale around 1:30 p.m. Multiple semi-trucks were on fire at the time of the crash, but it is not known how many. Small grass fires sparked from the crash, but officials were able to contain them quickly.

Fort Worth Fire Department says two victims were found deceased.

The FAA is on the scene and the NTSB is on scene to assist in the investigation.

Business 287 is shut down for both north and southbound traffic in that area. Motorists are urged to use a different route and to avoid the area.

Officials have not released information on how many people were aboard.

The Dallas Express provided the following details of the crash:

CBS Texas reported that the plane struck semi-trucks parked along the roadside before bursting into flames. Videos posted online showed thick black smoke rising hundreds of feet into the air, visible from miles away.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified and will lead the investigation into the cause of the crash.

Early, unconfirmed reports suggested the aircraft may have been a Cirrus SR-22, though federal authorities have not verified the make or tail number.

The crash site lies just south of Hicks Airfield (T67), a private, member-owned airport in unincorporated Tarrant County, about 15 miles north of downtown Fort Worth.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
