President Trump Delivers Remarks At Charlie Kirk’s Memorial Service

President Trump delivered remarks at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service on Sunday evening.

Trump began his remarks by sharing that Kirk’s assassin was a “radicalized, cold-blooded monster”.

The 47th President added, “He was violently killed because he spoke for freedom and justice, for God, country, for reason, and for common sense.”

Trump also noted that Kirk’s memorial was like an old-time revival.

The New York Post reported the following details on Trump’s speech:

President Trump pointed out how Kirk was able to draw enormous crowds in both life and death.

“This is like an old-time revival, isn’t it?” Trump said.

“He could always draw a big crowd — look at this today, look what’s gone on. This is a big crowd,” Trump added, listing off the leading names in US government who came out to pay their respects to Kirk.

Dozens of people have taken the mic at the service that’s in its fifth hour.

“Charlie Kirk loved America with everything he had. And as we can see so clearly today, America loved Charlie Kirk,” Trump said.

“A great American hero, that’s what he is.”

Trump also shared some lighthearted jokes about how he has difficulty forgiving his opponents, unlike Charlie and Erika Kirk.

CNN reported more on Trump’s remarks:

President Trump broke with Charlie Kirk in one regard during his speech, saying he found it difficult to empathize with his rivals.

“He was a missionary with a noble spirit and a great, great purpose. He did not hate his opponents. He wanted the best for them,” Trump said, before diverting from his script.

“That’s where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponent,” he said. “And I don’t want the best for them.”

Offering a shrugging apology to Erika Kirk, Trump said it just wasn’t in his DNA.

“Erika, you can talk to me and the whole group, but maybe they can convince me that that’s not right, but I can’t stand my opponent,” he said.

Trump, towards the end of his speech, declared that Charlie’s message is bigger than ever, and he is now eternal:

The 47th President also noted that God needs to be brought back to America:

Trump later encouraged the crowd that right now, Charlie Kirk is in heaven:
