US Attorney Who Refused to Charge Letitia James RESIGNS Amid Pressure from President Trump

Erik Siebert, interim U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, has just turned in his resignation.

This comes after reports broke President Trump was planning on firing him for refusing to bring charges against New York AG Leititia James.

That’s right, in spite of the mounting evidence that Letitia James committed mortgage fraud, Siebert tried to brush it all under the rug.

And now, he’s out!

Fox News reported that the White House gave Seibert the choice to either resign or be fired:

Erik Seibert, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, resigned on Friday after the White House gave him the option to step down or be fired, Fox News has learned.

Siebert’s perceived unwillingness to bring local charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James, one of Trump’s top political nemeses, was the main reason for his ouster, according to multiple sources.

Siebert, who had worked in the Eastern District of Virginia since 2010, had not yet been confirmed in the Senate and was on track to be.

A housing and finance banker familiar with the investigation into James told Fox News the mortgage fraud case against her is viable and that she is under scrutiny for, in at least one instance, declaring an investment property she owns as her primary or secondary residence, which would give her better loan terms.

The Eastern District of Virginia is one of the most closely watched U.S. attorney’s offices in the country, known in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks for successfully prosecuting Zacarias Moussaoui, who is serving life in prison for his role in planning the attacks.

Earlier today, President Trump spoke to reports in the Oval Office and said that he wanted Seibert “OUT!”

Because Letitia James made this personal. She didn’t enforce the law she hunted with it.
Every lawsuit. Every press release. Every campaign dollar. She built her career on Trump’s blood.

And when the DOJ had the chance to turn the lights on her, what did Siebert do?

He blinked.

This isn’t about revenge. It’s about balance.
If they can invent crimes against a former president, and the DOJ won’t even look at theirs?

Then the system is broken.
Or worse, captured.
