Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson just called for his citizens to “rise up” if President Trump sends in the National Guard to address the crime crisis in his city.
Is that a threat?
Of course, this comes a couple days after President Trump confirmed Chicago will be next, after D.C.

It’s both hilarious and kind of sad that Mayor Johnson thinks his constituents are on his side in this.
His approval ratings are absolutely abysmal. In fact, his approval ratings are the worst among mayors in the entire country.
Per ABC 7 Chicago:
There is a cloud hanging over Chicago City Hall, and it could be called approval ratings.
A new poll on the mayor’s popularity by the University of Chicago Mansueto Institute for Urban Innovation shows that citywide, only 26% of residents approve of the way Johnson his handling the job of mayor while 58% disapprove, and 16% had no opinion.
“I think he misjudged the voter when he thought that he could coast on the promises that he made, he could coast on his agenda,” ABC7 Political Analyst Laura Washington said. “He has to deliver, and people are expecting that. And so far, the poll shows people are disappointed.”
The poll show’s Johnson popularity is underwater with every age and income group even though he’s made affordable housing a key focus. He is also struggling with voters of every race.
Mayor Johnson’s approval ratings among Black voters showed 38% approve while 42% disapprove.
Somehow, I really don’t think the people of Chicago are going to heed Mayor Johnson’s call to “rise up” against President Trump’s efforts to help clean up their city.
In fact, I think they are going to do just the opposite.
Already, we’ve seen several videos of Chicago citizens begging President Trump to come in and help end the rampant crime.

Reportedly, plans are already underway at the Pentago to send in the National Guard to Chicago.
And, it could happen as soon as September.
