The Republican Party has become an even bigger tent for Americans from all walks of life in the era of President Donald Trump.
His second-term victory was made possibly by massive increases in support from an array of voting blocs — including Latinos:

But on the left, anti-Trump activists continue to paint him and his supporters as racists, particularly because of policies aimed at enforcing the immigration laws that were all but ignored during Joe Biden’s four years in the White House.
And as Breitbart reported, Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) recently ran with that false narrative by insisting that the Trump administration is targeting people based on their skin color rather than immigration status:
He added, “When I saw troops everywhere in foreign countries, I was intimidated, I was scared of people with big guns. I never thought that that would happen in the United States, would have an active military on our streets and that’s what you have. There is this deep fear that’s building and building and building because here’s the thing, they are not going after criminals, they’re going after anybody that is brown, that looks like me, that can’t pass as what they say, as a “typical American.” That’s why you’re getting people who are not undocumented actually arrested. That’s the fear that exists, that anybody, doesn’t matter if you’re a citizen or not, could be arrested and held in detainment for for a number of days.”
While the knee-jerk Trump haters out there will probably accept Gomez’s claims at face value, anyone paying attention to the facts will surely recognize that Americans of all races are supportive of the president’s efforts to enforce the nation’s laws:
The media told Trump if he tried mass deportations he'd lose the Hispanic vote
He campaigned on it, got more Hispanic votes than any (R) in American history, and his support among Latinos is at (46%)

Gomez was so proud of his performance, however, that he shared a clip of it on social media:
This should never happen in the United States.

Of course, this wasn’t the first time Gomez had lashed out at the Trump administration for its immigration policy.
As The Hill reported last month as ICE agents targeted dangerous criminal immigrants in California:
“No, I think that Donald Trump is not doing it because there was ever an issue. He’s doing it in order to have it on TV. He wants the show, of course, because that’s — he likes to play the tough guy, but when it comes to taking on China, he always backs down,” Gomez said during an interview with NewsNation.
“When it comes to taking on the cartels, he backs down. So he wants to show that he’s tough, and that’s what it’s always been about. It’s about the show that people can see, even if it’s limited,” the California Democrat told NewsNation’s Joe Khalil.
The administration has argued that Marines and the National Guard were deployed to help halt the protests after some protestors ransacked a federal building, while others set cars on fire.
Here’s some additional coverage of the California Democrat’s politically charged rhetoric:
