Millions of TikTok users across the US breathed a sigh of relief earlier this month when President Donald Trump agreed to extend the deadline by which the app’s owner, China’s ByteDance, must either approve an American buyer for it or risk a nationwide ban.
Over the weekend, Trump sat down for a Fox News interview during which he delivered a major update on the search.
According to The Hill, he teased that there was already a buyer lined up for TikTok — but he’s keeping some of the details under wraps for now:
“We have a buyer for TikTok, by the way,” Trump said in an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo.
