This past weekend, an unnamed female fencer was disqualified from competing after she refused to face a male opponent.
During an event at the University of Maryland, the female fencing athlete was matched up against Redmond Sullivan.
Sullivan is a man who previously fenced for the men’s team at Wagner college up until this season when he suddenly became ‘transgender’ and switched to the women’s team.
Instead of competing against Sullivan, his opponent took a knee in protest.
This should have been a wakeup call to the USA Fencing organization. But instead of listening to her, they disqualified the female fencer from competing, then expelled her from the event entirely.
The Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS) shared the clip of the event on X:

HOLY SHLIT: A female fencer was EXPELLED from a @USAFencing event after she refused to compete against a MALE who invaded the Women's competition.
Why is a woman getting expelled for being forced to play against a man?

The male fencer, Raymond Sullivan, also competed in women’s track and field, according to ICONS:
Yes, Sullivan was also a Connecticut high school girls track and field champion.

HeCheated.org gave more details on Sullivan’s past history in women’s sports:

Redmond Sullivan fenced for a season against men at Wagner College and several years prior in club competition.
According to his Fencing Tracker profile, he has never finished first against men.
He is still in the middle of his first season against women, but has already finished first in the Connecticut Junior Olympic Qualifier in the foil.
Sullivan also competed against female athletes in track and field where he won the MM State Championship title in the shot put and placed 2nd at the Open State Champs.
More from MRCTV:
The video attached to the post shows Sullivan’s opponent taking the knee instead of competing.
“USA Fencing and the NCAA have had a long history of taking opportunities away from female athletes like this,” ICONS posted.
Sullivan gained notoriety after quickly winning medals after changing from the men’s to the women’s fencing team at Wagner College for the 2024-2025 season.
ADVERTISEMENTThose who advocate for biological men to be in women’s sports would rather people bend the knee and accept their gender delusions than have women take the knee and remove themselves from their dangerous insanity.
Kudos to the brave young woman for standing up for herself and all women in sports, rather than complying with the insanity.
Bravo to that young woman! Very courageous of her to refuse to compete against a man in a women’s event.

This female fencer is a hero.

However, this is still completely unfair and infuriating.
It should have been the other way around, with the male fencer being disqualified from the women’s event, rather than the actual woman who worked hard to get there.
Why isn’t the man immediately disqualified?

We need to do better to protect our women.
The USA Fencing group should be held accountable for allowing such a thing.
