Charlamagne Tha God Calls Out Democratic Leaders By Name: ‘They Should All Step Down’

Blasting Democrats as “the party of inaction,” radio host Charlamagne Tha God recently dedicated a segment of the popular “Breakfast Club” show to explaining why he believes the party’s leadership on Capitol Hill should be replaced.

It was just the latest example of the media personality breaking with the prevailing leftist orthodoxy and included a harsh assessment of the top Democrats in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

As The Hill reported:

“Dems don’t just have a messaging problem. They got a leadership problem,” he continued. “The Chuck Schumers of the world, the Hakeem Jeffries’s, they should all step down.”

His comments come amid internal turmoil within the party, which was only exacerbated further when Schumer broke with his party’s ranks to vote to advance the GOP-backed spending bill in the Senate.

The bill passed Friday evening in a 54-46 vote, with the support of Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Angus King (I-Maine), who caucuses with Democrats. All but one Democrat opposed the measure in the House vote earlier this week.

After Schumer announced Thursday he would not support a filibuster, several House Democrats blasted Schumer for his decision after urging the Senate to tank the bill.

Of course, there were a number of others on the left who were similarly incensed by Schumer’s position on the continuing resolution:

The Daily Caller also covered Charlamagne’s recent remarks about the state of the Democratic Party:

“Per usual, the party of inaction, the Democrats, have failed to protect the interests of the American people. And you know why Dems suck at messaging? Because they never talking about nothing, and they do nothing,” Charlamagne said. “So guess what? To me, they all gotta go. Like, Dems don’t just have a messaging problem, they got a leadership problem. The Chuck Schumers of the world, the Hakeem Jeffries — they should all step down.”

“And any Dem who isn’t fighting for the people and standing with the party should be primaried. Like, how can you say the bill sucks, but you’re passing it anyway?” he continued. “Like, you’re not even going to try to present something different, try to negotiate, nothing? ‘It sucks, but we’re going to pass it anyway.’”

The government is slated to undergo a partial shutdown after midnight on Friday unless eight or more Democratic senators join Republicans to advance the six-month stopgap spending bill, known as a continuing resolution (CR), due to the Senate’s 60-vote filibuster. Sufficient Democratic senators are anticipated to join Schumer in advancing the bill.

Here’s some coverage of critical remarks the host made about Joe Biden on the show last year:
