President Trump Gives “Complete And Total Endorsement” To Gubernatorial Candidate

President Trump gave his endorsement to Vivek Ramaswamy in his bid for Governor of Ohio.

“VIVEK RAMASWAMY is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio. I know him well, competed against him, and he is something SPECIAL. He’s Young, Strong, and Smart! Vivek is also a very good person, who truly loves our Country,” Trump said.

“He will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio, will never let you down, and has my COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT!” he added.

Ramaswamy officially announced his campaign on Monday.

Ramaswamy made the announcement in Cincinnati, declaring, “President Trump is reviving our conviction in America. We require a leader here at home who will revive our conviction in Ohio, and that is why today I am honored to announce that I am running to be the next Governor of a great state at the heart of the greatest nation known to mankind.”

He added, “I will lead Ohio to be the top state in the country where patriots across America actually flock to instead of Florida and Texas. I will lead Ohio to be the state of excellence in America.”

Ramaswamy also received an endorsement from Elon Musk.

Per Fox News:

Musk, a senior advisor to Trump, also offered Ramaswamy his endorsement a short time later.

"Good luck, you have my full endorsement!" Musk responded to Ramaswamy in a post on X.

Musk and Ramaswamy were initially slated to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) when Trump returned to the White House last month, but Ramaswamy exited the newly formed cost-cutting department – still led by Musk – ahead of Inauguration Day as he prepared to launch his campaign for governor.

Speculation swirled after Ramaswamy's departure from DOGE about a possible falling out between him and Musk, allegations Ramaswamy has denied.

Ramaswamy formally declared his candidacy during a rally on Monday in his hometown of Cincinnati.

From The Columbus Dispatch:

Ramaswamy, 39, who lives in Upper Arlington, was complimentary of Trump during his campaign launch, saying America was at a fork in the road in 2024 but made the right choice to reelect Trump. Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur, has been a loyal Trump surrogate since he dropped out of the presidential race after the Iowa caucuses.

That loyalty goes both ways. Trump had pitched Ramaswamy as a replacement for Vice President JD Vance's Ohio Senate seat and swiftly endorsed him for Ohio governor to replace term-limited Gov. Mike DeWine.

Trump's support has been crucial for Republicans in primaries in Ohio, including Vance's 2022 Senate bid and Sen. Bernie Moreno's successful run in 2024. Early, internal polling indicated Trump's nod would be important to the 2026 Republican primary for governor between Ramaswamy and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.
