Failed presidential candidate Chris Christie has not been shy about expressing his disdain for former President Donald Trump, and to a lesser extent former primary rival Vivek Ramaswamy, but his remarks during a recent event took that hostility to a troubling new level when he blatantly expressed a desire to see both men violently killed.
According to Gateway Pundit:
“I would have preferred any of those people over Trump,” Christie said when asked about other Republican candidates. “Ramaswamy and Trump, I would have hoped for a death match where they both die.”
The comments led to awkward laughs from the audience, while the moderator asked him whether he meant “a literal death match.”
“Yes,” Christie responded, “Where they both die.”

While the remarks received some attention from critics on social media, another segment of the event sparked more widespread mockery.
Christie had the audacity to remark on Trump’s physical appearance, and X users far and wide called out the glaring irony of his comment.

Of course, ad hominem attacks on Trump are nothing new for the overwhelmingly unpopular former New Jersey governor.

Christie has criticized Trump for reportedly diverting 2024 campaign donations into a political action committee that he has used to pay his legal fees.
Trump is “the cheapest S.O.B. I’ve ever met in my life,” Christie told POLITICO in June.
“This is a billionaire who refused to pay his lawyers with his own personal money, and instead, men and women out there who believe in him and wanted [him] to be elected president are donating money to try to forward his candidacy … and he’s diverting that money to pay his own legal fees,” Christie said.
